You and Ima must be joking......

Stats? How about WINS...that is the only stat that matters.

I have said it before and will say it again.

Barring injury, Vince Young will be the best player in the NFL within the next 3 years.

This one was a surprise to me. I guess the medical reports said his knee had little or no cartilage and that he was a definite liability. DAMN!!!

At the very least I was hoping we could get a middle draft pick for him. Outright releasing him really blows. Oh well ...

I guess the purge of Asserly's regime is near full completion. It is official, he IS the worst GM ever! Even Mike Lynn only made ONE mistake with Vikes, though the Herschel Walker deal was a major blunder, but Asserly set a standard for futility that can never again be surmounted.

The biggest idiot EVER !!!!!

    You must be joking......

Wins? How can you attribute wins to a single player?

It's been said before but I'll say it again.

Trent Dilfer won a freakin' Super Bowl and Rex Grossman, who some people think could be worse than Carr, made it to the big game this year. Don't try to tell me that team success is an accurate barometer of how good the QB is. The Texans improved by four wins this year. Obviously due to the influence of Mario Williams.

    Actually, that was February 9th.

Fair enough, hatemavs4life. :D Thanks, man, for accepting it wasn't ALL DC's fault.

Yep, Asserly deserves the Honor of being Magna c*m Laude graduate of the International Persistent Institute of Imbeciles!!!

Asserly better never show his face in this town ever again! 'Cause there are some rednecks here that want to whoop HIS ASS !!!

Casserly's resume ... how many picks worth a sh*t? Dunta, AJ, Pitts (maybe). Babin? Travis Johnson? Oh please ...

From #1 pick five years ago ... to complete worthless sh*t! Yep, Con artist Charley really knows how to pick them.

And most fans could easily see that those players weren't the reason that they got to the Superbowls. On the other hand, most people could see that Peyton Manning was a key cog in winning Indy's Superbowl. Pointing out that Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl has no bearing on whether a QB has a huge impact on winning.

Can you name a single great QB that never had ANY team success?

I'm thrilled that the Texans were able to grab Schaub, but the Carr/ Mario debacle will be fodder for eternity.

The players are in place now though for the Texans to make a major turn around -- who we grab in the first round will be telling...

I felt this way when he was drafted. NEVER draft a QB from the WAC to be your franchise QB. Backup? Yes. Starter, no.

Depends on what you say by team success, but Warren Moon may be the best QB without leading a team to the super bowl.

A debacle it is. So we get nothing for Carr at the end of the day, and might have gotten something in a trade had it been handled well. I have to say that the management of the Texans have managed to make themselves look like fools. In my opinion.

But it proves that you can't say a QB is good because his team is good. That's my point. Yes, a QB has an effect. But people grossly overvalue that effect to the point that they believe that team performance and QB performance are so intertwined that one can't succeed with out the other and that simply isn't true. Any arguement that says VY has to be good because his team became good without giving anything other "evidence" is completely without merit.

Yeah, that last sentece was sarcastic. I was trying to illustrate how absurd it is to give any one player credit for team success or improvement. There's no big cog in the machine that everything depends on. Yes, it helps to have a good QB, RB, WR, OL, Defense, etc. But no one piece is essential and you can always find examples of team that succeeded despite lacking in certain areas.
