Or Farage could realize how difficult it will be to separate the UK from the EU and doesn't want the responsibility of having to try to be involved with that. In this way if things go bad he can say he had nothing to do with it.

You should learn a little more about British markets. Here's a quick primer:

    http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...nt-FTSE-100-s-recovery-s-250-matters-s-5.html

So far, Brexit has been little more than a storm in a teacup for the stock market as the FTSE bounced back this week and is now higher than it was at the start of the year.

But the FTSE 250 index of medium-sized companies is still 5 per cent lower than it was before the referendum result.

The FTSE 100 might be the most famous index of UK shares but it doesn't actually give much insight into the state of the UK economy.

That's because around 70 per cent of the revenues produced by the largest 100 businesses in the country actually come from overseas, typically in dollars.

That means if the value of the pound falls – as it has done since Brexit – they actually do better.

The FTSE 250, meanwhile, is made up of the 250 largest companies outside the FTSE 100. It is filled with firms which are more UK focused such as housebuilders, estate agents, pub groups, travel companies and retailers.

These are industries which rely on a strong UK economy and a confident, spendthrift consumer. Over the past week many have tanked.

    ...

Exactly. What a loser. People like him only know how to break things, not build.

Give him credit for being self-aware.

This exactly right. It would be one thing if this were an isolated incident. But everyone is running away from this. Barring a huge reversal, voters are likely going to pissed in a couple of years no matter how Brexit goes. The Pound dropped substantially in value so everyone is poorer and imports are more expensive. The remainers are going to be pissed that they are leaving at some point. The leavers are going to be pissed that it's taking so long. Current predictions are now thinknig 2020 or so at the earliest. That's a long time for voters to be patient while seeing none of the benefits of being gone while suffering many of the negatives in terms of jobs slowly transitioning away, being poorer as a country, still having to accept all the immigration, and paying dues to an organization that you're planning to exit.

OK, before everyone runs off with their wild ideas, let me give you the facts.

The Conservative Party (Tories) are in charge of negotiation. They won a parliamentary majority last year (which is also the reason a referendum was held, because it was in their manifesto). During the In/Out referendum, they led the campaign owing to the fact their campaign, Vote Leave, got the official designation by the Electoral Commission. Farage is neither a Conservative, nor even an elected Member of Parliament, nor was he a part of Vote Leave. Farage was part of the rival Leave campaign, Leave.EU. The reason for this is simple - the Tories hate Farage. They didn't want Farage in their events and they didn't want Farage in any televised debates.

So what does this all mean? With respect to being involved in getting Britain out of the EU in any official capacity, he's got little say. He's not in government and he's not a Tory. In fact, the Tories are planning to bar him out of official negotiations with the EU despite Nigel being a prominent MEP and leader of the EFDD group in the EU Parliament.

So this talk that Nigel doesn't want to get involved with Brexit's actual implementation is nonsense. He's the one who's been saying he wants Article 50 activated as soon as possible. He's the one who's been laying out concrete plans on how to manage the actual negotiations (involve vital industry leaders from both parties) and the type of deal they should have (minimal tariffs). That's far more from what the Conservatives have put forward. Him quitting as UKIP leader just means he's no longer UKIP leader. He's not quitting politics altogether. He'll still serve out his term as MEP.

The prospect of him not being involved in the official negotiations isn't out of hope, though. Of the Tories in the race as the next PM, Andrea Leadsom is open to involving Nigel in the negotiations.

Nigel's post resignation speech sounded pretty good:

Farage is a disgusting coward who is running away from the disaster he helped to create. Meanwhile, Putin is dancing in the Kremlin with delight as NATO and democratic Europe are weakened. That some of you actually believe that this is a good thing is astonishing.

He resigned from UKIP leadership. He is still an MEP. You can't run away from something you were never part of. This could allow him to be more involved, not less.

so 20 years of work inside the EU but within the last week he has learned all this new information that made him suddenly resign? Just ****ing LOL

This is better for UKIP and Farage. He doesn't have to answer questions about a UKIP party member saying "bongo bongo" and UKIP can separate themselves from Farage and his negative press magnet.

So Nigel realizes that with UKIP not really behind him (he called them a bunch of "Turkeys who voted for Christmas") and that he's out of the power grab going on, he decided to call it quits by claiming victory.

What a piece of work. Truly living up to what most xenophobes are - total cowards.

    That's just wrong, I'm sorry.

I addressed your first sentence in my previous post. With regards to Putin, all I can say is "muh Russian bogeyman". The Russians aren't that bad; what has Russia done that has been a show of globalist intentions? They're still catching up to the West in terms of development and they know that. The only thing they have going for them is natural resources and a cache of weaponry from the Cold War which they're using to keep themselves safe and, for the most part, against the same threats as the West. Russia has been more effective than the US in dealing with IS.

FYI, the Ukraine crisis was instigated by the EU. This is not something the media will tell you but key EU people instigated the toppling of a democratically elected, albeit corrupt, government. Guy Verhofstadt, MEP and former Belgian president, was in Kiev during those events rousing the Ukrainians to join the EU.

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rQnXo2HMriQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The Ukraine has always been part of Russian sphere of influence and there are a lot of Russian speakers in that country so it's not surprising Russia has some vested interest in what happens there.

If Putin is happy about the EU toppling down, I wouldn't think it's because he finally gets rid of his greatest obstruction from conquering Europe, only that one of the greatest sources of lunacy, dare I say evil, in the West is finally gone. Democracy in Europe isn't reduced by the toppling of an anti-democratic, expansionist cartel.

His press effect is a double edged sword. He's a really solid debater and connects with the working class but the media goes on to depict him in the worst light possible and people from other parties just outright refuse to work with him.

But, yes, I think there is some benefit from this for both him and UKIP. Running a party takes a toll and it's obvious he's deadbeat tired. UKIP could use a less-controversial figure at the top esp. right now. Ambitions in UKIP now is to get into Parliament and become the opposition to the Tories. The Labour party is in meltdown and UKIP now has a good chunk of their votes from the working class in Northern England.

Do you actually believe this (are you this dumb is what I am really asking) or do you know you you are just throwing some propaganda to see if it sticks.

Don't apologize for being wrong. I don't doubt that you simply can't help it.

So since you are so aware and educated...

Explain Douglas Carswell tweet. And why is it that Arron Banks would suggest what he suggested? And even the Leave.EU campaign's position?

Explain why those 3 are doing what they are doing if Nigel has so much support from his own side. Then you can start calling people dumb. I will give you time to google them. Then you can apologize.

So in other words when things go bad like a UKIP member saying "bongo bongo" he can say he had nothing to do with it.

Except in his resignation speech he said that his political ambition has been achieved and he wants his life back. That doesn't sound like someone who wants to be involved much further.

The reality is that no one likes Nigel Farage. Not his own party. Not the major donor behind his party. Not the only MP in his party. Not the leave.eu campaign. They all wanted him out.

Is it any surprise? the guy made that horribly arrogant speech to the EU - he makes Trump look like someone who'd you love to have over for a BBQ.
