Wow. If the US military won't let its soldiers bring their families to Turkey, why should anyone belittle the UK for wanting to leave a pact that allows Turkey's population to have full access to the UK?

[rQUOTEr]U.S. to make military deployments in Turkey 'unaccompanied' tours: sources

The United States is moving toward permanently banning families from accompanying U.S. military and civilian personnel in Turkey, reflecting worsening security conditions there, two U.S. defense sources said on Wednesday.

The Obama administration in March ordered the families of U.S. military and diplomatic personnel to leave Incirlik air base, which has been used heavily in the fight against Islamic State militants, and other parts of southern Turkey. At the time, it said the move was not permanent.

The move affected about 670 dependents of U.S. military personnel in southern Turkey, while 100 others in Istanbul and Ankara were allowed to stay.

This is why I say that anybody who reads Atlas Shrugged should be required to read The Jungle.

LOL. Here go the dominoes - Johnson sold out his principles to be PM but I imagine he finally realized he didn't want the actual responsibility of dealing with this clusterf***.

Brexit Leader Boris Johnson Rules Out Bid To Be Next British Prime Minister

LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - Former London mayor Boris Johnson, runaway bookmakers’ favorite to become Britain’s prime minister, abruptly pulled out of the race on Thursday in a shock announcement less than a week after leading the campaign to pull the country out of the EU.

Johnson‘s announcement, to audible gasps from a roomful of journalists and supporters, was the biggest political surprise since Prime Minister David Cameron quit on Friday, the morning after losing the referendum on British membership in the bloc.

Boris really embarrassed himself in this whole process, and did a lot of damage.

God, don't joke about that. You know he would take whatever power he could get as quickly as possible, by any means necessary. We've seen this kind of guy many times before.

The people who voted for GREXIT are the type of people who would vote for Trump in this country.

We know who will be playing Trump in the inevitable movie about him and who will be playing Johnson in the movie about Brexit.

It probably won't matter that Owen Wilson can't do accents.

What a colossal mess British politics is at the moment.

    PM has resigned.
Johnson, front runner candidate to replace him, abandons bid, having been backstabbed by his foremost ally and lieutenant in a scenario well worthy of a House of Cards episode.
Four other candidates jockeying for control of the Conservative Party.
Opposition party has an even worse leadership crisis. Corbyn overwhelmingly loses a confidence vote but refuses to quit. No clear path to resolution.
Then you have outright fascist Nigel Farage and his UKIP lurking.
Country is utterly divided. Disastrous consequences for economy ahead.

Adding insult to injury, they got dumped out of the Euros by freaking Iceland.

    Sheesh.

My guess is that she'll probably win. She'll say enough pro-Brexit things now to try to win the support of Tories who support Brexit but might be put off by Gove's duplicity and betrayal. But if she gets there, I don't for a second believe she is going to trigger Article 50 -- certainly not unless she gets a parliamentary mandate to do so.

Most people in this thread said Boris was horrible, now that he is not standing it is horrible? Make up your minds.

Why is the fact that four people are standing so bad?

Opposition party has a bunch of Blairites using this as an excuse to get rid of a leader they never wanted but he has support of membership so it doesn't matter.

Country is divided on a single issue but it isn't down party lines and mostly Blairites are in the government.
