Just guessing that there are some opportinities out there for another star to "shake loose" that Morey might see but may or may not be in the news yet.

No media report saw James Harden leaving OKC coming until it happened. This time last year nobody saw Dwight Howard turning down guaranteed $ to leave LA, either. The NBA will always have disgruntled stars and now the new luxury tax rates are going to cause some havoc, too.

So is Les. They're just gonna pay a ridiculous amount of tax.

Eh, this is a safe move but it does lessen our chance to get a third star taking out the option to outright sign Aldridge or Love if they were to opt out in the 2015 free agency (If they can opt out not sure about there contracts).

If Morey is confident we can trade for our third star then i'm not going to question his decision. A good thing about signing Parsons a year early in the 2014 FA is we are probably going to be able to sign him for less then we would if we let him develop another season and signed him in the 2015 FA.

Les Alexander isn't a billionaire, he's just a millionaire...big difference. Plus, it's not just the tax, going over the tax line limits your team in terms of trades and FAs. As Cuban himself said, they can't just cover everything up with money anymore.

Yup, sounds about right. And this I don't mind at all. He really could grow into our 3rd star.

Looking forward to seeing Howard surrounded with our young multi-skilled guys like D-Mo, Parsons, and even Casspi. TJones has some skills that would also look great next to Howard. We can grow our stretch-4 from within. Glad we weren't able to sign Josh Smith. The grass ain't always greener.

So true....this isnt your NBA of 5 years ago, they put in many restrictions and additional taxes for teams that liked to just throw money down the drain. (Dallas, LAL, NYK, BKN)

I posted the lux tax table earlier and that is bad enough, but then you add on these restrictions Im posting below, it is getting harder and harder to pay team salaries like they used to.

Les has paid the tax once and that was for 700k. Les just isn't rich when compared to most other owners. I think profits come over a win at all costs mentality.

Thank you CBA for the ridiculous luxury tax preventing people without billions of dollars from competing.
