    David will like Toronto.

seems the only athletes that like playing in Canada are foreign.

Jeffries is going to cost the Rockets real assets to move in a salary dump. Why deal with the Rockets/Jeffries when they can make cash profits by taking on other contracts?

The Rockets aren't getting that 2nd round pick from the Clippers. A team has to send some kind of asset back in a trade even if that asset is protected to the point it's unlikely changing hands.

....it's pop anywhere near and north the Mason-Dixon line. Don't have to go to Canada to hear people talk nonsense.

Man that sucks. I thought Andersen was good with Adelman system. He made some big shots last season and was money from 3-pt line for a 7-footer. He did score 10-15 pts when given more time to play.

Don't count on the draft pick, this deal is strictly a salary dump. Here's the description of the obligation for this draft pick:

The Rockets only get this pick if it's between 51-55 in 2015. Picks with these kinds of protections are only done to fulfill trade rules and not with much intention of actually getting the pick. For example we have Memphis' 2nd rounder next year (top 55 protected), so we only get the pick if Memphis has one of the 5 best records in the league.

weird protection clause (edit: good find m_cable, that explains it)

this feels like the Francis trade to Memphis (even though we had to give Memphis a 2nd rd pick), Daryl had to get creative to get rid of dead weight

Jeffries could go in a similar deal at the deadline where the Rox give $3 million (which would cover the rest of his salary) maybe a 2nd round pick....and they would be under the cap.

It would save them MORE than just the Lux tax, as now they would be in the pool of teams that GET MONEY BACK from the Lux tax teams.....

I would bet anything they get there.....because that is what they do, every year.

Not saying it is bad, just calling BS on Morey for thanking Les about it so often.

    This.
We added too many good new big men better than him, no room.
Daryl loves draft assists and getting our team younger every year.

I was thinking more like Joey Dorsey...let me fix it:
I guess Toronto is where all of our useless big men go from the last three years.

You misunderstood what I posted. I'm not saying the Rockets wouldn't salary dump but another team would not take on Jeffries even with cash.

Other teams can make cash profits taking on smaller contracts than only a low Rockets second rounder.

Andersen was a PF in the NBA playing out of position. He would have done well if Yao would have been healthy last year and there was room for PT.

This next year there is no way he would have seen the floor and the Rockets would have given him up for nothing just as a professional organization would do. Let him go to a team where he can see some time on the floor and maybe keep his career afloat to get another offer next summer.

This is actually a very classy move on the part of the Rockets organization and they still were able to get a free pick out of the deal. Oh and move closer to the Lux tax line.
