Sorry, I wasn't questioning you. I misread your post. I thought you were asking about Aussies.

his rebounding stats actually isn't bad, given the minutes he played and the fact that, according to John Hollinger's analysis of the data, a guy typically gets more rebounder per minute in the NBA than he does in Europe (by an 18% margin, I think). Scola, forexample, rebounding at a lower rate in Europe, I believe.

I'm guessing there will be a cobbled line-up at the 5, including Luis. So, if there is an interest - what would it take to acquire his rights; and to sign him?

Why is there ne'er a word about Joe Smith? Nada about Oberto? (Maybe that's not a bad thing.) Slimmed down Curry? (What would the Knicks do to get McG and hope they 'control' a superstar to team with the putatively signed LBJ at a price allowing a 3rd star to join (albeit at less than a max 'Summer of '10' price)???

I really thought Oberto was going to be the guy but after Morey had said a center would come via trade I highly doubt it unless he is willing to take a Vet Min contract or maybe a tad more....

Yoyo posted on Twitter that his Vegas trip is over. Someone else at LV will have to handle those duties.

Andersen has only until July 15 to opt out of his Euro contract. If he's making a move to the NBA we'll know soon enough.

If the Rockets are seeking a trade to better manage their team salary. Hawks will need to sign him then wait 30 days (drafted rookie) before trading him to the Rockets.

I know I've brought this up a few times, but how hard could it be to get Josh Boone from NJ? He makes 2m per. He is basically a double-double and a block in 25mins. He's young, long, and athletic. It might take the rockets taking someone else off the nets to open more cap room for them next yr, but given their current rosters, it should bethat hard. Cook(3.5m) ,Lowry (2.0m), Hayes (2.0m) and Barry (1.9m) for Boone (2.0m), Hayes (3.0m) and Dooling (3.5m) works. They get a young backup behind Harris, a expiring in cook and chuck. The rockets get a center in boone,a backup pg in dooling who is 28, and jarvis hayes a sg who is also 28. Hayes and doolin have this yr plus next yr which makes them a expiring after this year.Is it that hard?

Boone averaged 4 and 4 last season, not quite a double-double and the 37% from the free throw line is not very appealing. If we gave up Lowry and Hayes for Boone and Dooling, I would not be a very happy fan.

When Boone played 25 mins per the season before, he was 8-7-1blk. That's pretty good production that you can get now as a center as a starter and as a backup when yao comes back next yr if he does at all. If you look at the pure dynamics of what I proposed, then you will understand it better.

I said Boone,Hayes, and Dooling for Cook,Lowry, and Hayes. Why? If brooks plays like he did in the playoffs, which I think he will, he's going to squeeze the minutes out of lowry. Lowry is a young guy who probably thinks of himself as a starter. After this season, he will have a cap hold of 4m or so.He will get a 4m per offer, do the rocket match? Another part of it is the rockets don't have a sg and that's what the 28 yr old jarvis hayes is. He's a good shooter from mid range and decent 37% from 3. Dooling is a good shooter and slasher also who can be the vet back up to brooks. He's bigger than both at 6'3 and still pretty athletic. He too iss a good shooter also and only has this year plus 1 left on his contract. So the rockets would get a young center in boone, and backup pg in dooling and a sg in hayes and they would only be giving up is lowry, cook, and chuck. What's not to like about that deal?

Those are actually good stats in Euroleague. I would look into him. If you look at Rubios Euroleague stats you will find his about the same or even less impressive than these stats. The thing is Rubio is only like 12 years old. LOL! This guy is 29 but he has good stats in just 21 minutes per game which is normal in Euroleague. Great choice if they get him perhaps?

It seems to me that the Rockets are going to stand pat this year. They have far too many injuries to put together a contender this year. All of the proven free agents are signed except Lamar Oden and I don't see him signing here.

Gortat would have been a great get but I just do not see any centers outside him AnderSen and/or Ryan Hollins I would want on this team. The Rockets do not appear to be in the running for neither one. Morey want someone who is athletic, long, block shots, who can attack the basket. I just don't see Morey overpaying for someone who does not fit into their system.

I'm already getting my mine ready for Chuck Hayes at the center  .

Rockets Acquire Rights to David Andersen
Australian big man headed to Houston

Houston - The Houston Rockets began the process of strengthening their frontline Tuesday, acquiring the rights to 6-11 center David Andersen in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks. In return for the Australian big man, Houston is sending cash and future considerations to Atlanta.

Andersen, 29, was originally selected by Atlanta in the second round (37th overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft. He joins the Rockets after spending the 2008-09 season with Regal FC Barcelona.

A native of Carlton, Victoria in Australia, Andersen averaged 11.1 points and 4.1 in helping FC Barcelona to the Euroleague Final Four this past season.

He was also a member of Australia's men's basketball team during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Andersen averaged 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds for the tournament.
