Don't we still have an exception, worth around $2.5 million, that we could use in a sign and trade? Could include a future 2nd round pick.
He is a fairly athletic finesse scorer. He is quite polished on the offensive end. Defense and rebounding isn't his calling card. He isn't the hustle Luis Scola type of guy,but he can be a useful addition for the Rockets, provided if they don't have to bust the bank for him. I don't know what his buyout situation is going to be like. I haven't heard of any injury issues about him. Let's see what happens.
I wonder if the Hawks are going to hang onto him now that they know a genius mind like Morey is interested in him.
Not possible. We'd have to break the MLE. The Hawks don't have cap money or any Bird Rights to Andersen, and you can't use the MLE in a sign and trade. The only way for the rockets to sign him, is to trade for his rights and then use part of the MLE (since he probably wouldn't accept a minimum offer).
Man, I don't know if I'll ever completely understand how to use an exception and what good it does us to have one!
Never impressed with him, and that's coming from his countrymen! Rockets could do better - even with the seemingly slim pickings around.
Big man kinda reminds me of Sura lol....He looks like he would be a nice addition and shouldn't cost alot...better then most centers in the league right now.
This guy is the Centre version of Luis Scola. If you check his per-minute numbers they are very close to Luis' Euro and Spanish League numbers. And Luis was hailed as "the-best-player-not-in-the-nba". Sign him!!! 3 million for 3 years!
He's got some skills around the bucket. I'd say he's worth a shot. If Morey's after him, that's a good enough endorsement for me.
If we could get him and sign a bigger and cheaper defensive/blocking Center, we'll be okay...best of Euro bigs for the Rox if ever.
