So many insiders its amazing. Who cares whether it happens or not...Just like Dwight has big expectations, the city of Houston does too. You dont put a winning product, and if you get bounced in the first round with Howard. Howard's legacy is just as ruined. In a really weird way, both actually need each other to shed an image of mediocrity.

Not true. He wants Brooklyn but he wants his money. I think he believed that he could force his way to Brooklyn via trade this offseason. He stopped a trade to the Rockets basically in season and I am willing to bet he figured that would be enough to push off Morey. The past few years anytime a player has even said he wouldn't sign teams didn't trade for them. Morey was going to see if he blinked on that and he went a step further. Opting in to scare Morey off.

In my mind though it probably reinforced Morey's belief that he won't walk away from the cash.

Oh, they get it alright but to them, it's inconsequential BS in their minds. You see, they are convinced beyond all reason that even though both Williams & Howard don't want to be in Houston it doesn't matter because Morey (AKA The Genius) can force them both to dance to the Rockets' tune. It goes without saying that an NBA championship will then be a forgone conclusion...

He only stayed in Orlando because he didn't want to be here... Why does nobody see this??

Guys, I want Dwight and Dwill as much as anybody... But is a small chance at them really worth missing out on the best draft in a decade?? I say no!

Nobody thinks Morey can force them to do anything. I liked you better when you were explaining to us Texans fans why Wade couldn't coach defense anymore and the league had caught up to him and he'd flop with the Texans.

If Dwight seriously thought he could force a trade to Brooklyn this offseason, then he needs to get a big dose of reality check.

Everyone and their grandmother has known for months that the Nets weren't going to have ANYTHING to offer for Dwight this offseason... nothing.

Are you serious? That's why he opted in? Can you find a sports legion tweet to prove that? If it's not on Sports Legion I'm not buyin it.

I was kind of implying that Dwight Howard wanted more than just be in NJ in a hint hint kind of a way. Guess I was being too subtle about that. :)'

Yes, I agree that if Howard can win in Houston, and we can give him the 5yr+higher raises, then he'll stay. Especially since the Nets will have to pay Brook Lopez and DWill will probably bolt for Dallas in the offseason anyway.

I'm not sure he'll stay, but I'm willing to risk finding out.

Oh man. I almost want those draft picks more. Daryl is set his heart on something. It might be in the wrong place. He has a loaded gun right now. He has Lowry and 3 draft picks in a supposed good draft. There might other things he can do with all of that. I know people want a star so bad but if he doesnt sign this could be worse than Yao and Tmac injuries setting us back. So Morey had better be really confident he can resign him.

But not b/c he wanted to play in a big market like every star of today. I sometimes wonder though if the past stars would be just the same as our stars of today. Probably...it's just the way society has turned them into divas.

Dude, I posted one tweet by them. And Sam Amick supported it!

There's been reports that support it, I don't remember what they were but ive read at least 3

Of course Sam Amick supported it. Places like Sports Legion just steal the tweets and articles of reports and put them out there as their own.

I was being sarcastic. I believe that is why he opted in as well.

i really hate how players try to strong arm themselves into where they play.

"Celebrity" basketball players trying to use their media camps to control where they go. In reality it rarely works.

This is all just posturing. If Morey can get a veteran (like Garnett) to come here after he acquires Dwight, all of a sudden the Rockets become the next go-to team. The Nets have nothing to offer Deron other than NYC, and Dallas won't have the money to pitch a deal to Dwight that the Rockets do. It's just a matter of getting the right pieces in place to get Dwight and Deron to see what Houston can offer them.

Never said that Wade couldn't coach defense. What I said was that Wade's track record is that the longer he's around, other teams catch on to what he's doing (ex. NYG & Eagles would actually call out his defensive signals when he coached the Cowboys), make adjustments and that's when things start to fall apart for him. Also said that Wade's a real likeable guy but I never said he'd flop with the Texans. If you choose to engage in personal attacks, it helps to first get your facts right.
