    Exactly.

I just don't see why the "where" should matter to these guys. If a capable team is here, what incentive does he have to leave?

Too bad OKC didn't and Miami did. Miami, the team who went after Superstars.

Will riots ensue if we trade for him, and all we get is a rental.

Aw geez! You too REEKO? You are the last person I would have expected to get caught up in this fake macho BS of calling Howard's bluff and teaching him "a lesson".

Even if it doesn't agree to xtension, we can make his life a living hell. Remember how he doesnt want to be the bad guy? Well, we can make him the bad guy. More bad PR for the guy if he feels that way.

They went after superstars, but they weren't parting with 3+ first round picks and other prospects.

It was the other way around and you know it. Those stars agreed to come to Miami willingly. I didn't see Riley pulling something like this to force Lebron to come to the Heat.

Not a lesson but walking away from > $50 million and ruining your image will sure make him think twice. Glad One GM in the NBA has the balls to question a Superstars priorities.

dwight is doing us a favor by saying that he won't sign with us next season. He could be like LeBron and just pretend to be interested in Cleveland and string them along.

How much more direct does a man have to be? He doesn't want to be here, period.

Actually Miami did part with 3 future first round picks for Lebron and Bosh.

Edit: they also traded away a second rounder and a Lakers picks.

Would you rather date 3 cute girls consistently in hopes of building a relationship...

    So what?

We have one year of contention, then we rebuild through the draft.

    Whats wrong with that?

He might not want to come here now, but if he gets here and a team that he can live with is put around him, why does he walk?

We already know this dude is capable of changing his mind on a whim, who says Morey and Les can't make it happen?

I disagree. Morey is the Rockets GM. He should be about the business of building a Rockets team capable of winning a title and NOTHING ELSE. Let Stern play around with the reordering of Superstar players priorities - after all he's good at playing God.

Sweet defeatist attitude. I guess the Rockets should just forfeit games until Lebron retires?

I just want to see Morey in the "superstar" position for once. If there is anyone in the league with the balls to call a superstar's bluff, its Morey.

And if Dwight has shown us anything at all up to this point, its that he has no idea what he is doing when it comes to demanding things.

Not saying that at all. I believe that they have a unique opportunity to get a core of young players that can really transform this team. They have the 1st round picks, Motiejunas coming over and some really nice talent already here. If Morey & McHale are truly as great as folks make them out to be, they should be able to build from this. If they fail, then they failed but I'd rather see them fail after trying something like that rather than blowing it all on yet another quick fix move. I have seen enough of those in the past 17 years to want no part of another one.
