Here's a better statistic you should look at.

Peja's effective field goal percentage is #2 in the NBA at 56.3%. Shaq is #1. Steve Francis is #101 at 43.1%. I wouldn't trade Peja for Steve if I were the Kings. Peja is a much better shooter, and this is the Western Conference where jumpshooters rule.

Those career numbers include the two years that Peja was coming off of the bench and playing less than half the game. Peja is younger than Francis and you are saying Steve is better because Peja put up crappy numbers while Steve was at SanJac. Since becoming a regular starter his numbers have been superior to Francis. You might as well say Mo Taylor is a superior player to Jermaine O'Neal. Peja is superior to Francis because he is currently the best player on currently the best team in the NBA.

The Kings also have more scorers than the Rockets. So by default, Francis should be able to score 25 or so a game, but he hasn't come close to it.

I don't think I want to be a Seattle fan, if Steve gets traded send him anywhere but Seattle, Utah and Dallas.

The big difference between Peja and Steve is that they have a great offensive scheme that involves everyone to keep the defence true. Our offense is based around throwing it into Yao and Mo or a high pick for Francis. No1 on this team is to blame for the series of bad loses this season. JVG has all the tools to make a great offensive team but doesn't use them effectively!
Steve Francis can average 20 a game but is mostly having to take long jumpers to make his points..... (*READ HERE JVG*his strength is taking it to the hole so he can free up his jump shot) When you get a pick or you have a big man in the post, you have limited areas to drive to the basket.
Yao Ming, Yao can shoot long range and score effectively in the post...... (*READ HERE JVG* Yao is not a great physical guy and seems to get "tired" easily when banging in the post) Why not utilize his jumpers and keep a big man out of the lane so Mo can goto work or even Francis so he has 1 less big man to drive into in the lane.
Jim Jackson, very consistant jumpshot. Overall JVG has used him well
Cuttino, is an under rated lefty jumpshooter....... (*READ HERE JVG* He should have been the one who benifited most from Yao's doubleteam. What happened to the old dump it in the post get the double and kick out to the three point shooter?) Cuttino knows that offense from his first year and shot the lights out in the first half of the season. Anyone remember the 7/9 3pts each by Dickerson and Mobley?
Pike, is a great outside shooter....... (*READ HERE JVG* Get the guy some open looks! Everytime he has the ball there are defenders right in his face and he's asked to take the shot!? Run the Reggie backcut play if you have to!) Honestly, how can a guy shoot so well all his career and then come to JVG's offense and totally suck?

We have a great offensive team and trading players is not going to change things dramatically unless it's for Shaq because he draws alot more attention in the post then Yao for our other players to suceed. JVG needs to realise that you need to use strengths and not show other teams your weaknesses.

    Also, Tiny Archibald...

In Kansas City's first season, he averaged 34 points a game and 11.4 assists per outing, becoming the only player in NBA history to lead the league in those two categories in the same season.

Pretty disappointing, because I expect better from you.

How often does Peja create his own shot? I'd like to find out how many of his dribble penetrations aren't preceded by his blowing by a defender who is flying out at him. He only gets to the basket, because his shot is respected. If his shot isn't falling(See last year's playoffs), he isn't worth...well, you know. The rest of his baskets are off of kickouts. As far as I am concerned, his all star numbers are products of the best offensive system in the league, that of the Sacramento Kings. I think that he would still be an excellent player on another team(At least a few all-star appearances), but he wouldn't look like the MVP type player he looks like on the Kings.

I would not trade a Steve Francis of last season for Peja of any season. If Steve were guaranteed to continue to shoot like he has this season, then I would pull the trigger, but I don't think he will. He is clearly being hurt by a lack of confidence, and I think his shot will eventually come around more consistently.

I hate that I'm in the vast minority concerning SF, but I still think that the combination of he and Yao still has the potential to do great things in this league. I know that we won't see 9-11 shooting from Steve, 10 assists from Cat, and 29 points from Yao every night, but they all played an excellent game tonight, especially Yao. 21 shot attempts!

I would trade Steve of ANY season for Peja......Peja fits into a WINNING style of team play better, and is certainly a better fit for a Yao dominated team.

    Peja > Steve

Well, Peja imroved EVERY season, puting the ball on the floor, dring, using the screen etc.

The question is, can Steve make us say the same?

What's the answer if the quetion is asked two seasons after?
