    haha, ain't nobody disputin' that!

ray allen was supposed to take the next step and become a superstar 2 or 3 seasons ago, i think it may be after the 00-01 season. since then his stats have stagnated and his shooter percentage was never that high again.

but still, can shooter, smoother drives, would be a good addition. overall just more effective that Francis.

we don't need any of their ancillary players just a straight up trade would already accomplish a lot.

but that three way trade... haha, a little impossible sounding but it would be COOL to have Iverson. Yao and AI... hmm... AI has never played with a legit center, but would he pass Yao the ball? If he would I'd rather have him than Ray Allen, but so would everyone else I bet.

Ray Allen would have a field day on this team with the open looks Yao creates. Also with Steve gone, Cat can return back to the slasher role he is best suited for and create even more wide open shots for Allen.

The problem with a Seattle deal is that they would requito throw in some of their deadweight contracts like either Jerome James, Vitaly Potapenko, or Calvin Booth.

You are right his 2002 stats were tremendous. But actually his stats dramatically improved after he was traded to Seattle.

Before and after last year's trade:
    Before: 21.3 pgg, 43.7% fg, 91.3% ft, 4.6 reb, 3.5 ast, 1.2 stl
    After: 24.5 ppg, 44.1% fg, 92% ft, 5.6 reb, 5.6 ast, 1.6stl

Nice improvements across the board. This year his stats are down slightly but still better than what he was at Milwaukee.

I wouldn't mind having Booth to back up Yao if we ship Cato in the deal too. Make them throw Daniels in the deal and we're set.

Probably a better "fit" than Francis, but wouldn't be my first choice. TMac would make the Rocket's a contender. The Allen trade is more likely. A guard with a consistent outside shot would make a "huge" difference on this team. We need someone who can break down the zone and free Ming inside. I believe Allen could do that better than Francis. It's all speculation at this point.

Why does everyone want to sign Brent Barry in the offseason to play PG? The guy is a solid veterean (33 in the offseason) who good probably start at the 2 and fill in a few minutes a night at the 1. He's a great shooter, but what makes you think at 33, he can all of the sudden be a starting PG in the NBA? He averages 3 assists per game over his career, and he's one of the worst defenders in the NBA.

As clutch said above. It was just what DA thought the Rockets should do, not what they are doing.

plus his game could very well hold up better than francis' because its based on pure shooting and more fundamental skills, as opposed to jumping over and into people and crossing them over. Ask Timmy Hardaway how well that crossover works when you turn 30.

Brent is no Jason Kid but he is good enough for the Rockets.

Brent didn't play PG in the past.

In the last 3 seasons, he avg. +5 assists and 2 TOs/ game.

    Steve's are 6+ and 3.7 TOs.

Brent's defense is pretty good. He is comparable to Boki, maybe a little better. For sure he is a whole lot smarter about staying with his man than Steve.

I do not understand all the excitement here. Mr. Allen shoots 44%FG in his career and that is one freaking percent better than SF and CM (both are 43%). He is not exactly Peja. Do not expect too much "shooting lights out" from him. He is a slightly better Cat Mobley. Moreover, Allen's team has won more than 42 games once in his eight-year career in the East. Francis has done that twice in four years in the west.

In addition, two Mobleys. or Allens, work only if we have a dominaing center/Forward. Yao might become the one just as SF might become the next Jason Kidd. What if Yao only becomes the next Brad Miller/SMits? I mean, how may open looks do our guards get right now? Allen would be glued to the opposing guard just as much as SF is now. At least, Francis can creat his own shots.

For his career he has a better three point percentage than Peja. In addition, over the last three season he's averaged over 5 assists per game from the 2 spot, that would be huge on this team.

    Their 3 point% are almost indential (39.5% and 40%). But Peja FG% is 47% while Allen's is 44%.

BTW, I would not trade Francis for Peja either.
