I know Josh Howard is a good young quick athlete. But to say the series will come down to Tmac vs Howard is just idiotic. If Tmac catches on fire nobody, nobody can stop him, not in Howard's dream. Also D.Wes, Sura, Barry, James might be a little bit old, but they play within JVG's system and know their roles. Dont forget our bigs in the middle. The series more or less comes down to JVG vs AVJ IMO.
So is ours. The last a few games have shown Tmac is more than a scorer. He will find open man when he is doubled. The laser beam pass of his is deadly. How are they going to guard P&R between Yao and Tmac. We have two dynamic stars with a bunch of shooters/slashers around them. Dallas better bring their A game on D, coz if they dont they will get beat.
Lanky tall quick guys will give trouble to Tmac, Jamison, Lewis showed that. Howard imo isnt as good as them. But you think JVG will ISO Tmac on every possession? If you are true rocket fan, you should know how JVG plays Tmac. Multiple screens, P&R, catch and shoot. It's not only the quickness Howard will need, but also the experience to read our offense, which I think he lacks. I wont be surprised that AVJ put Finley on Tmac down the strecth.
I say all 3 would be tough for them. Queens might be slight easier, but if they get Brad back, they are not pushover either for Dallas.
Phew, Aldridge is good, but I REALLY want to hear what this guy has got to say: God I love bringing it up again.
If I were Dallas, I'd take Sac, Denver and then Houston in that order. I think Houston is the toughest of the three. Why they are excited to play us is a mystery to me. Denver has been playing well but we have more experience on our side. So talent wise, call it a draw, if you want. But you'd have to give the edge to Houston over Denver on coaching and intagibles.
There's no freak'n way Josh Howard is 6'10", he looks more like 6'6". He cannot guard T-Mac one-on-one, period.
Just came from there. They are saying Yao was not playing very well against Mavs this year. Which I think is true. But they also are saying that Dampier can guard Yao one on one? Is it true? I am not so sure.
It's not Damp could guard Yao one on one. It's rather Yao didnt play well against Damp. Not well meaning he didnt dominate him. If Yao is in his zone, how can Damp guard Yao. Nobody can in this league. Yao dropped 15 some points on Damp in one qtr when he was in Golden State. Yao hasnt played Damp much this year, and we know Yao is peaking right now.
I think it'll be a pretty good test to see who's more deserving of MVP talk (behind Duncan and Shaq ... and Nash): Dirk or TMac.
Kobe went for 33 and 36 in 2 games while AJ was playing head coach. Further, TMac is a playoff performer. I don't think he really cares who the head coach is. TMac and Dirk for all purposes will neutralize each other. I think this series is going to be a matter of who shows up between Yao Ming/Jason Terry, and whose shooters take advantage of open looks.
