At this point would you do the trade if it costs Battier?

He also serves a vital role now. If they deal off Battier now, this team is going to be woeful at shooting the three ball.

They aren't THAT much better with Battier. Artest's 3 point shooting isn't Rafer Alston circa 2006-2007 bad either.

How is it even true that Battier is the only one? Jackson makes just as much as James does... In fact, I believe his contract alone would be enough to meet that 25% + 100K rule if we wanted to acquire someone like Mike Miller or Artest. If not, we can throw in Snyder's $2M+.

Kleiza is better than anything we have to offer. He's 23 and had a 40 point game this year.

Thats a hard question. But I think I just might because we so badly need that 3rd scorer.

I would like to keep Battier as well. An Alston/Tmac/Battier/Artest/Yao lineup makes me very happy. But unless it's a 3-way with the Hornets, it's not going to work.

You're right that an Artest for Battier straight up works. But to get further lower in the cap, dumping Snyder's contract helps Le$ I believe..even if it meant dealing ANOTHER draft pick

Any suggestions of Battier for Artest is laughable right now. Artest's trade value is not worth that much right now.

Yea....Chad Ford's chat....something about Bulls sending Ben Wallace to Cleveland for Gooden, Newble, Shannon Brown and Cedric Simmons. Nothing on Rockets.

Not putting Jackson in a 3 way trade when we sent out James is a pretty good indication that he is here to stay.

Unless it's Jackson straight up for Artest, we would have to wait 60 days to package Jackson and another player.

Yes, I would. I'd prefer to keep Shane as our sixth man, but Artest plays defense even better than Battier (Ron is a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year), can play multiple positions on both ends of the court, and can score 30 on a given night, something Shane won't give you. My caveat is Artest's contract situation. If we do this just for a rental, it's short-sighted.

Mike Miller would make me very happy. No chance of that, I guess. Not much chance of Artest, either, but we'll find out soon.

I am...I sent a question asking about this rumor with battier and Snyder. I also threw in a tidbit saying "Way to be a douchebag name dropping that a GM is calling you because he's reading your chat."

I wonder why he didn't answer.
