I would hate to lose Battier too. But if he is what Kings ask for Artest, you gotta pull the trigger. Battier is a glue guy to this team, plays hard all the time, Mr. Intangible, etc. But Artest is a big time player that will potentially put us in the contention for championship, which I dont see with current roster. Now, Artest temperament would be a concern. Hey, this team is filled with good citizens. We need a bulldog like Artest.

    Simply put, it's a no-brainer. :D

Thomas always give Yao trouble. I don't think we can beat spurs anymore!

Well, those blog bulls are very reliable to you I guess.

Artest is looking to be resigned for 10+ millions. it means Spurs big 3 + Artest's salaries will be over 50 mils. So, we are talking about millions of luxury tax here, not 60K.

The Spurs didnt even keep Stephen Jackson. Why do they want Artest now? They are not that desperate and they already had Rodman experience who they gave away for almost free.

well sportscenter just reported that seattle will send kurt thomas to the spurs... didn't say for who, but i'm sure no one major. it would seem to indicate that the spurs probably wont make a move on artest though.

    definitely makes them better.

You are wrong! Why don't the teamUSA has Battier but not Artest? Do you ever think about it?

    Artest staying...for now

    (2:49 p.m.)
Someone within the Spurs organization is steering folks astray, as it now seems as if that situation may not exist. It never made sense as it was, and wasn't anything close to a deal the Kings would consider. All is quiet at the moment, and my Denver source says if the Nuggets had relented on Linas Kleiza then the deal would be done.

60k is how much they are over luxury tax. I'm not sure what your point is I don't really understand your post there.

What you're failing to comprehend is the proposed move gets them under luxury tax this year. They're trading for his expiring contract not giving him an extension.

Anyway they just traded the above players for Kurt Thomas who is making 200k more than Artest.

It's not because of talent, it's because of Artest's past, image, and bad boy attitude.

    You are wrong. :D

TeamUSA has too many superstarts who are 2x more talneted than Artest, and it needs a glue guy, bule collar worker like Battier. Plus dont you think Coach K and Duke connection didnt play a part in having Battier.

The Rockets are short on talnets, especially when Tmac or Yao or both are struggling. Battier's glueness donesnt help us in that case. We need Artest. Not saying Artest is guranteed to be better Battier in every game. But to win a championship, we need Artest more than Battier IMO.

Again I hate to lose Battier. I wouldnt trade him for anybody less, not even considering. But for Artest, I would pull the trigger. Especially Artest is a defese beast too.

Ya know..the trade deadline is tomorrow at 3 PM. Morey has always philosophically stated that trades done hastily usually turn out bad or you pay too much. This is typical Morey. Hold your cards close and wait to the last minute. If the Kings don't get anything for Artest they lose because Artest simply walks out at the end of the year. Best to do this trade. So it looks like it's between the Rockets and the Nuggets. I do this trade but substitute Head for Brooks and make the Kings take the deal or nothing.

I think Spurs backing out Artest sweepstake further shows Kings want talents for Artest.

I wonder if we'd have to pick up a big contract....

Brad Miller or Kenny Thomas....which one would you rather have?

I'd pick Miller... I think he'd be good off the bench, or when we went smaller.
