I really don't think we would give up Shane and Bonzi. I believe it would be Shane or Bonzi. Otherwise, we would lose depth and talent.

no back-up point guard, and if things don't work out we'll have lost a future starting pg in exchange for a rent a player. Big risk.

If Rockets are serious about contending then they have to consider getting Artest. Artest + Tmac + Yao will make them instant contenders.

Artest can defend 4 positions. He can shoot. He can create shots. He is the enforcer type player this team has lacked for years. He fills up so many needs for the Rockets with just one move.

If Rockets gave up Rudy Gay, a lottery pick, for Shane Battier, what is holding them back from giving up a late first round pick, Aaron brooks, for Artest who is a much much better player than Battier?!!

Artest is a more sensible "Win Now" trade than Battier ever was. He absolutely destroyed Battier or whoever Adelman put on him last game.

i don't think a team in rebuilding mode would be that interested in bonzi anyway.

I think Bonzi makes more sense than Shane. Bonzi has ties in Sacramento. We might give a new contract to Bonzi and do a sign and trade. We would add James or Brooks to the deal. So it would be a 2 for one.

I don't believe it wold be Shane because he's considered to be an anchor of our defense and a great chemistry and hustle guy, but I guess Artest could take over that role.

I'd be hard pressed to disagree with his impact. It would definitely vault the Rockets into the elite.

But this is Ron Artest we're talking about. With Artest, it's either good or bad and when it's bad - it's evening news bad.

Maybe we can sign Artest this summer. By this way, we can see how Brooks develop and have enough time to build chemistry for next season.

If we can get Delonte from Seattle for Snyder's expiring..........I might consider giving up Brooks...........but not Brooks and Battier........and only if Ron signed a reasonable extension.

BTW, Artest would make Hayes obsolete.

Bonzi ain't interested in signing a deal to go to Sacramento. His reasons for wanting to paly there no longer exist.

    Bonzi (exp contract 2.2mil)
    Snyder (exp contract 2.3mil)
    Francis (exp contract 2.4mil)
    Brooks
(frees up 7 million next year and gives them a nice PG to build around)

    For

    Artest

    No brainer!!!!

I would miss AB and what he could become, but you have to GIVE to GET.
