    Now THAT I would do.

Miller could add just as much scoring to the team as Artest without being a negative in other ways (except for the ugliest hair on the planet - GET A HAIRCUT DUDE!).

As for Artest's defense, well, yeah, he's a good defender, but aren't we already #2 in the league in defense? Not as big a need to upgrade there as offensively, and Miller could provide that, ESPECIALLY since Artest would be clogging the lane, eliminating Yao's effectiveness, while Miller is a dead-eye from outside, thus complementing Yao instead of nullifying him.

If the Rockets can get Mike Miller, the only requirement should be that he gets a haircut before his first game.

the Loose Cannons report isnt going to report anymore on this rumor, which is only in the rumorsphere and no more than that. it was during a section called(Lee) Hacksaw's Headlines...

it's not worth a thread, but is worth a mention, it's good to hear other markets reporting on the Rockets right now

    Alston
    McGrady
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

    Brooks
    Mike Miller
    Bonzi
    Landry

That would be a solid 9-man rotation.

Whole heartedly agree. Mike Miller would be a much much better fit. I would much rather trade for him than Artest if it was possible as he has none of the negatives and most of the positive sans defense but with real 3 pt range.

Plus TMac really likes him from his Orlando days if I remember right.

    Artest staying...for now
    12:22 p.m.
The Spurs may be nearing a deal for Artest, although it's also believed Denver may finally be willing to give up Linas Kleiza. Of course, my flight from Portland to Sacramento is at this very moment, so we'll see where things stand when I land.

    (10:40 a.m.):
Add San Antonio to the list of teams that will try to steal Ron Artest.
I don't see Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie biting, but I'm told that the Spurs will (or maybe have) offer the expiring contracts of Francisco Elson and Brent Barry (combined $8.54 million) for Artest. A draft pick would likely be available, too, but this would seem to be yet another low-ball offer as the Kings see it. But if it did happen and Ron was united with the team he demolished in the playoffs two years ago? Oooweee. The rich would be filthy rich...

Supposedly he and Battier are really tight too, so that might go a ways towards alleviating any concerns about disrupting chemistry.

We cannot afford for Artest to go to the Spurs. We'd have to make the trade if not just for the sake of not allowing this to happen.

Any of the three teams that somehow managed to get Artest would be Scary good.

    Denver - Carmello Anthony/Artest/Iverson
    Houston - Yao/T-Mac/Artest
    Spurs - Duncan/Ginobili/Parker

ya know if we don't get him, I hope the Knicks trade for him. Send Zach Randolph to the Kings for Artest.

    OMG it gets worse

    From a spurs forum:

"It is not a done deal yet,but very close to being done.I have no link I heard it on the local sports radio.

Barry, Elson, and picks for Artest."

Please Rockets put a stop to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do whatever it takes so that he doesn't go to the spurs damnit   :(
