I believe Brooks hit 6 game-winners that season, if not during his career at Oregon.

i dont know that they would have a choice.

its their job to accept him.

this is a basketball team not a country club.

oh i definitely agree. count me in the camp that doesnt want him for exactly those reasons.

the only point i was making was directed at the question of whether he will fit in adelman's offense.

The Rockets looked like ass earlier in the season. Now they trust each other, they share the ball, they're unselfish. I am really leery of tinkering with that.

I heard that too just now, but wasn't it just a rumor?

They made it sound like it was solid but I don't know about Hacksaw.

that is not a question of "acceptance" but basketball chemistry.

if (and it is a big if) artest comes in and fits, and plays his cards right (contract year) and the rockets have success, then we will all say it was a great move. the pistons did the same thing with rasheed wallace. but then artest can parlay that performance into a big contract and you probably lose him.

if he comes in and the team fails and he bolts, we'll all chastise morey for bringing in someone that was so obviously troubled.

so either way, i see it as a lose-lose situation in the long run.

Could be just a rumor, but seems like the sort of offer we should be making, and follows what Morey's been saying: that our team is ranked high on defense but low on offense, hence Mike Miller.

Morey shows he knows how to draft, but even if we offer up draft picks, we can reach out to Mike Harris to fill a roster spot when need be.

That would be money. I don't really see why they would want another small guard though.

Gotta be more to it than that.....

    Miller makes 8.3mil
    Head only 1.1mil

4 #1 draft picks and $5million cash??

Doesn't make a whole helluva lot of sense.

fixed. :D If artest walks after this season the Rockets wont loose anything they actually will get cap space to work with but they wont have enough resign artest because he will be looking for max type money.

the problem is that if artest walks after this year he doesnt clear you up a ton of cap room because he is so underpaid relative to his production.

in other words, you will not be able to replace the basketball production he gives you for the money he will clear under teh cap.

thats a tough spot to be in.
