Brooks is 5 inches taller than Webb. He is a legit NBA 6' and can penetrate as well as shoot from distance. He has long arms and big hands for his size as well as unparalleled quickness.

There is a reason that Adelman wanted Brooks.

There is a reason why Sacramento thought about taking Brooks with the 10th overall pick and there is a reason they still want him.

Or sign and trade for another star, or let him walk and clear cap to go after somebody else

Spud Webb was who came to my mind too, but I guess I never really considered him that great a player, plus he had mad hops that I haven't seen from Aaron yet.

But Spud Webb is definitely one undersized player that was similar to Aaron Brooks in build and height.

    sure, if that's what happens.

but, and this is just me, I'd rather see an Artest trade, and the ensuing chemistry killing blow-up entertainment then first round playoff exits for the next five years, at which point the Rockets have to rebuild completely anyway.

Brooks is 5" taller and not nearly as stocky as Spud. That wasn't a good comparison.

Brooks' height and frame are much more similar to Iverson.

Actually, people don't know whether Artest can be controlled, and it is just the same as people don't know how good Brooks can develop.

Artest for Head, Brooks, and Battier...throw in a first round pick if you have to. Artest would put this team over the top. He can definitely guard 4 positions including pgs. He shut down Brandon Roy last night. It's time.

Sacramento gets Brooks and expiring contracts.

Seattle gets good depth for 1 player who may walk [edit] and a pg who's getting paid more than his minutes say he should[/edit].

Houston gets Ron to replace Shane, Luke to replace Brooks and Kurt is a nice bonus. And I think with all the money freed up by our Outgoing players and Kurt getting a smaller contract, we have enough money to keep Ron and to go over the LT - or at least too far over.

I don't think Artest has so much value! Actually, he is a loser!

What happens if the stuff hits the fan? In the worst case scenario the Rockets trade for Artest and still lose in the first round. At that point Artest bails and the Rockets have traded away Brooks and possibly a rotation player. Now what do the Rockets do?

One more thing: Adelman's system requires a high degree of team chemistry. Is it really realisitic to assume Artest is just going to be able to plug into the system and be effective by the time the playoffs arrive?

Wish I could see the highlights too bad I'm at work. I just haven't seen a lot of hops from Brooks this year. But if you have highlights, I am sure that he can jump ( when I think about it now, I seemd to remember Brooks dunking once after a foul)

But Luther Head could jump in college too and well, it just hasn't translated to the NBA yet.

Still Brooks just doesn't look that big to me. Maybe it is just the way it is distributed on his body, but Brooks looks just a little thin to me.

Do you the rockets players will welcome Artest? Actually, I don't think so.

How will he get along with T-Mac, Yao and Scola? Will he trust them with the ball? Will they trust him? It took the Rockets half the season to gel.

If it was just a talent question I'd be more amenable to this trade. But with Artest you get all of the interesting psychological issues.
