Calm down with the AB is our future.....He's a good young player that will ALWAYS have a job in this league. He's the new Bobby Jackson and that's worth a lot......but if Artest is available and they want Bobby eeerr Aaron Brooks, then you seriously consider.

With Artest, our great defense will become life threatening and make the term "shut down" a staple term when the Rockets are mentioned.

You have to consider the trade and possible pull the trigger

Bonzi is a borderline rock star in Sac Town.....he averaged 24 and 12 against the spurs two years ago. The fans would love to have Bonzi back

That's a good point, Sacramento doesn't need expiring contracts back because Artest, if he opts out, is expiring. That's Bonzi's real value. Giving them Shane would seem like overpaying though.

but part of that was because he was "forced" to do so much with Yao out for a good stretch last year.....

The only thing I worry about with Ron is him getting out of control on offense. He has to respect the other players and buy into the system with this personnel. I know he's played in Adelman's system, but he did pretty much whatever he wanted then. Some of the shots he took against San Antonio in that first round series a couple years ago were just atrocious. Sometimes you have to take chances and maybe this is a chance the Rockets should take. I don't know. However, I sure as hell don't want him going to Denver or San Antonio.

Most certainly. I'm only in favor of an Artest deal if we keep Battier. Keep our starting unit intact and essentially swap Artest for Bonzi as our 6th man.

I think Artest has respect for Yao and Tmac. Plus the respect that comes with wanting an extension, which puts him on his best behaviour.

What I like most about th beast is when we need a bucket down low to keep us from free falling in the 4th quarter, dude can deliver.

We better no hinge this trade on an undersized shooting guard. If we can land Artest, we HAVE TO trade Brooks. No more putting so much value on a guy that has a huge hill to climb to become successful in this league (ie. Head, Rhodes, etc.)

    Clutch,

Can you confirm whether this trade rumor has legs?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Amen! If we don't do this deal, assuming it's really on the table, when we go into that 4th quarter swoon again in a critical playoff game come April and May, we will be kicking ourselves.

True I heard that too, but David Aldridge is a pretty credible source, and this was of last night. He said that we're doing some quite maneuvering in regards to Artest...

That's what I was thinking. You're more succinct.

    You are correct.

They have less than a day though and have apparently moved on to looking at Kurt Thomas.

I am guessing that we already gave up on Artest.
