What's the fascination with Rafer? He's your run of the mill PG who doesn't do anything special. We got in return a guy who is only 22 yrs old, a better defender, and a better finisher at the rim.

 

We got our hopes up this season and it's turned into a disaster, doesn't look like any other moves will be made.

We just have to wait until 2010 by that time the economy will be in a recession that is worse.

We have Mutombo, Battier, and Barry to provide that veteran leadership. Lowry is a better defender than Alston.

You can blame Tracey for this one.

Morey should have never uttered those words but make no mistake if Tracey didn't go all turtle on us we would have moved him for someone, probably Vince or BDiddy (who I think is way overpaid/overextended contractually anyway so I'm glad it didn't happen but that's another story).

Anyway, when Tracey pulled his "I'm getting microfracture surgery, now which one of you muthaf'n doctors is gonna tell me that's what I need act" he pretty much screwed us out of our "Top Player".

Hopefully this is lesson learned for our still very young GM and he doesn't make the same mistake next time running his mouth before it is a done deal.

I think he was sort of buying into the whole Wizard persona and was feeling all of the fan love and wanted to give the fans what they wanted but you don't tip your hand before the river is dealt so to speak.

All that said, it's no reason not to love the fact that we got rid of the biggest thorn in the side of our inside-out playing style and that is a point guard who could not hit the broad side of a barn on most nights.

AB will get the minutes with Yao and he will make teams pay for doubling like Kenny used to with Dream. Lowry will run with the second unti and that is what they will do run. With Rafer entrenched as the starter the rotation was all out of whack, he was the vet and there was no way to solve the issue peacefully by making AB the starter, that problem is now solved.

It is addition by subtraction, no more no less. It just remains to be seen if AB is up to the task but we will soon know the answer to that.

What's he big deal with Brian Cook? He is a tweener who is no more than a scrub on a good team. I doubt that he will get many minutes here.

 

this might lead to a signing by the rockets of a player they kno will get bought out soon and resign for a minimum like francis did. (Maybe Marbury)

 

We have to get Cook or someone else or the money doesn't match with just Rafer for Lowry.

 

My god, people are overreacting! Lowry, as a backup, only playing 22 minutes a game, is averaging about 4 assists per game, 8 ppg. Alston as a starter, playing 33 mpg is putting up 5 assists per game and only 11 ppg.

 

Too lazy to check, isn't Memphis under the salary cap?
