I don't know what Duncan's making next year. I've assumed it would be 6-7 mil. The real question is will it be a 2 year deal? What about Manu? Or this a one-shot deal where all these old guys retire if they can't win a ring?
So much butthurt here. Dude has made almost 150 million dollars over his career. Sure he gave up that kind of money this year, but how can we, the average joe, put into perspective what 12 million really is to somebody who has made 150 million in their careers? We just cant. For all we know, this is just chump change to him. To him it maybe worth it. I think a lot of it just steams from jealousy. The Spurs are going to kill it in the NBA next year and its terrifying for us.
noone made him. It was his choice. I guess you can't understand that money doesn't mean happiness for everyone. It's a wonder you are even a basketball fan. Why waste money and time watching " A FREAKING GAME"?
Brewer and Beverly also took paycuts to sign with us instead of the Kings and last year we had Smith for peanuts. And he still may choose us and take a paycut. To win.
Of course no one made him, of course it's his choice. What is this crap? Just because I don't think its a good ideal for a player to take a 90% paycut just for a chance of championship, I'm somehow suddenly not a basketball fan? I "waste" my time and money to watch basketball exactly because IT"S A FREAKING GAME. It's a game I watch for entertainment.
Maybe I missed it but bball reference has him set as making 87.7 million for his career. That last year with Indy could have bumped him over 100 mil, which I would guess as of right now is still a pretty exclusive list. Not for long though.
Too funny. Morey now can make his moves imo. Lot easier to respond after most chess pieces have been played out versus beforehand
you think that smh you who sit in your computer to watch nba games and type in a forum are the same as a basketball player who has given hours and his life to the sport. It is not just "a freaking game" for them.
And once I checked another site it looks like bball reference was counting the money he opted out of, so really he has banked about 75.5 million. 11 million is A LOT to give up for someone who has only made 75.5
Meh, this smells of Silver... NOONE takes a 90% pay cut... you think his agent would EVER let him do that? We are all talking about people getting uber max salaries after the TV deal and this guy takes a 11.6 million pay cut. Sheat don't add up... gotta keep the international market segment interested right?
