We didn't even get a chance. He was already talking to Sac before he got fired, I'm sure. The interview was merely a formality. No one passed on anyone. His decision was made before he even had his pink slip.
Let's not forget Sactown will also likely have the 8th pick in the draft this summer. We'll have nothing.
Ill say it once again. Morey is an abject failure, and this franchise is an embarrassment. Morey knows nothing about basketball and would best be served as a professor of statistics at MIT.
Joeger's wife wanted to get involved in the booming Sacramento Horse riding scene according to the TrueHoop guys lol.
Bev/ Jet < Rondo/ Collison Harden/ KJ > Maclemore/ Bellinelli Ariza/Brewer < Gay/Casspi DMo/BeasGod = Stein/ Moreland Howard/Capela < Cousins/Koufos Ok I started writing this for some reason and now looking at it, I understand a little more why we were so bad this year. The fact that we are comparable to the Kings and there are people saying that Morey should keep his job smh. This off-season is so damn depressing
Charlie P commenting on the Rockets org re: losing out on top targets. Especially if Vogel takes NYK or MEM jobs. Questioning whether HOU is that attractive an opportunity.
I get that Minny is a pretty attractive opportunity, but in no way is Sacramento a more attractive opportunity than the Rockets.
Kings issue was off court chemistry problems and a head coach who was not liked by upper management. They needed a coach that will promote team defense and a new offensive system. Good job getting a quick replacement. Your turn houston
The Rockets position is still more attractive than most. The issue is that Alexander wants a far reaching and lengthy search. That will cost the Rockets coaches that want to be ensured they get a job. Bickerstaff knew the Rockets process would be long and wanted to make sure he had a job by October.
The rockets face to much roster uncertainty. They are losing multiple players and we'll be stuck without a draft pick. Ariza Harden and Beverly are the only starters returning and they will need a replacement Center, power forward and bench
Brooklyn has been a historically bad franchise. Why you'd bring up Hollins as if they were respectful before he got there is dumb. Memphis on the other hand, is a decent franchise that actually tries to win games. Regardless of who they had (there are PLENTY of other teams w/ young talent that suck), Hollins did a phenomenal job turning that franchise around. All Joeger did is build on the same principles Hollins put in place already Mark Jackson>Hollins>JVG>Vogel
No, it won't take until October (should be done soon) but Bickerstaff knew he was a long shot to keep his job with the Rockets and really wanted to secure an attractive job as a head assistant. The longer he remained in limbo with the Rockets, the less likely he was to find the job he wanted. I listed October because as an assistant, if you don't have a job by then, you are probably waiting a year for employment.
Key dates: NBA Draft Combine: May 11 NBA Draft Lottery: May 17 NBA Draft: June 23 NBA Summer League: July 2 Just in case it would be useful having a coach and staff in place...
The Rockets have a top 5 player, lots of cap space and a GM that is well thought of and an owner willing to spend money. They are not a top 5 destination right now but they are still a desired location for coaches.
I don't even think I would put Jackson in front of Hollins. But in front of JVG and Vogel? Seriously?
