As long as both people are contributing. In other words, two full-time jobs (unless there are kids or someone's in school) and enough income to keep going plus take care of the kids... and, if you don't have kids but want them, that you're planning for how you can finance that. In other words, saving for them and/or trying to find a job where you make at least more than minimum wage.

Read somewhere from the news... Beijing and Shanghai have high divorce rates as compared to the other cities in China. But what's interesting is that a high percentage of the divorces are initiated by the wives, probably due to the widening income discrepancy between the couple (wife earning more).

Another one was about dating services in China. According to the interview, female clients with lower academic qualification or income have more dates and are more likely to find a match. For the high income earners, their expectations are higher, especially when it comes to income. As such, the 'turnover' for these clients is not as fast.

I really can't provide any links. I remember these articles because as a guy, I somehow can related to it.

I think the way things are going (as far as the trend of women being more educated and getting better grades than men), it's inevitable that one day soon most women will be earning more money than men, in which case there will have to be a social adjustment on the part of women more so than men, and old 'rules' won't apply anymore.

Besides, women have been living off men for thousands of years, it's time they took over that role for a change. ;)
