Yeah right. Pat Riley is seriously regreting trading Fistch for him. LOL. Aren't we talking a game here? since when we desect 2s and 3s only to bash someone? Base on numbers he's not a big part of the win? Ask Arenas. If Ryan ever hit 5 3s in a game, I won't ever say anything bad about him again.
....and we're seriously regretting losing a 25% shooter? For the last time - the Rocket didn't trade Anderson - they traded his contract. The fact that they were able to do so is a minor miracle and something for which you should be thankful.
Where did I say we are seriously regretting losing him? Yeah, it's such a miracle that Ryan Bowen, who has a similar contract, but smaller, is still on the team, no where to be traded for. Anderson actually helped Heat winning some games. Can I say the same with RB?
Bowen makes half as much as Anderson, IIRC. But if there was a way to get rid of him for nothing I wouldn't be surprised if they did it. There's just no trade market for players once they get to a certain level - which I think Anderson was at before we unloaded him.
DA against the Raptors: 5-11 FG, 4-7 3pt., 3 RB's, 2 assists --- Mike James against the Heat: 9-22 FG, 3-8 3pt., 3 RB's. 6 assists, 2 steals, 5 TO's
It would have been great if we kept DA and finished with 2-3 more wins (maybe) and 6-7 picks later in the first round.
I really dont understand all these rants on DA from some fans. Is it a must to talk down a player when he didn't work out with the Rockets? It's too narrow-minded. DA is a solid bench player with his skills and versatility. DA is only making LLE and I take him anyday over Rybo, Hayes or Bogans. DA may have a bad shooting season. But DA's contributions with the Heat are solid. Have these fans ranting on DA watched any Heat game or they just looked at the stats numbers and started ranting? I watched a few Heat games and Pat Riley loves DA's contributions. DA is settled with his assigned role with the Heat - plays defense, rebounds and passes the ball. DA only has a few shoots when Wade plays and hardly can get into a shooting rhytm. But DA did have a hell of shooting nite against the Wizards when Wade was out. I am disappointed JVG couldnt work out the difference with DA and keep DA with the Rockets. DA's values was way more than his problems with the Rockets.
Please tell me the Heat weren't stupid enough to think Derek Anderson would waive his player option. If that was happening, why in the world would the Rockets trade him for NBDL waiver wire fodder? http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/14520870.htm Word is the pickup of Derek Anderson will be more costly than Miami hoped. Before acquiring him, the Heat tried to get Anderson to waive his $2.5 million player option for 2006-07, but Anderson declined. He's likely to exercise that option, meaning Micky Arison likely will need to relent to paying a luxury tax for Miami to use its $5 million cap exception
