Daryl Morey's love letter to Lin in the "Economist"

I really think we have Melo's injury to thank for that. Lin's rise would not have been so meteoric if Melo was on the court during that special run.

 

Makes me wonder if Morey talked about this to Lin when they were discussing the terms on the offer sheet. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been cut if they didn't have to cut him.

 

Yeah, why should the Blazers pick that drive-all-the-time only-goes-to-his-right shooting guard from North Carolina? Look at all the shooting guards they already have: Jim Paxson, Jeff Lamp, Lafayette "Fat" Lever--not to mention we just last year drafted a guy just LIKE him out of Phi Slama Jama. Do we really need to waste a high draft pick on ANOTHER shooting guard? What are you, nuts? Clogging up the roster with tons of guys at one position?

Nah, let's go for this center from Kentucky. We really need a big guy anyway--and he's got tons of potential. I tell you, he's the next Bill Walton! Do you really want to pass that up?
