He has got to be the worst poster on the board today. I disagree with literally every take he has. Hot garbage.
If every Morey fan debated like this it would be a different story. Instead you guys take the condescending tone and we tune you out. Great debate, I don't have time today cuh.
There is no such thing as Moreyball system.....his stats suggest we take 3s and shots at the hoop but an actual system dictates we should implement the midrange game to enrich our offense. Defense should improve and we can only learn from the Memphis game
The purpose of threads and posts hating the Rockets is to allow posters like the one below to enjoy Rockets wins (if they feel like it ) and also enjoy Rockets losses by claiming they are so smart by disliking the Rockets, like this guy below VVVVV This guy gets to keep being anti-Rocket all the way until the "deep playoffs," so we can expect at least 70 more games worth of complaining from guys like this. Dude doesn't realize that "IRREGARDLESS" would actually have the opposite meaning of "REGARDLESS," if it were a proper word, just like "irreverent" means the opposite of "reverent."
Give me a freaking break. If your are not being a Pollyanna fan like yourself and don't voice valid concerns about the team you love that makes you an anti-fan? That's just ignorant. I truly feel Pollyanna fans are the ones who truly don't care about the team they follow, they will take whatever the hell they dish out as an organization. Why shouldn't we as a fan base demand a deep playoff run. When you have two top ten players on your roster, you are expected at the very least to get out of the damn first round. Morey said himself he is seeking championship contention. So don't blame fans if they are holding him to that standard.
In your world, fake fans write good things about the Rockets and real fans write bad things about the Rockets. I won't try to reason with you. But I will say: you are going to be complaining about the Rockets until the playoffs.
I bring up valid concerns of the team which I have every right, as do other fans on this site. If you and other posters don't like it, you are welcome to put me on ignore. This stupid assumption that real fans need to have a universal positive view of a team no matter what is again ignorant.
OK, I'll put you on ignore. (Please do the same for me.) But do you really think you need to post the same "concerns" for 82 games? The Rockets can't hear you.
How does this matter? Managemt decided not to tank and thus no top 10 pick. And it's not like Morey drafts well in the 1st round. He chose busty Morris over Leonard and Faried, DMO over Mirotic, Be Well Royce White number 16 and had to send him away and I can go on and on. Morey is a good late 1st / 2nd round drafter and he prefers those picks because of the contracts
It matters because it explains that he has been able to accomplish great things with spare parts instead of the most valuable assets an NBA franchise can have... Top 5 or top 10 picks can be used to 1. Draft a star 2. trade for a star (because they are very valuable).... what the hell has Murray had to work with? the 12 - 16th pick? Those aren't coveted bro. Middle of the pack picks, average NBA talent and a broken star are the definition of spare parts and that's all Murray had and look at the team we have now. It's damn impressive. Anyone can cite misses in the draft by any GM... Murray's misses aren't even that obvious/bad.... be real. Even if he did miss with a couple of mid 1st rounders, so what? Are you expecting perfection from your GM? Get a grip.

For what it's worth, Knicks won 54 games by heaving up all those 3s. In 2013/14 they cut back on the 3s, and only won 37 games.
Most people in general when debating on an online forum have a condescending tone, regardless of what side of the argument they are on. It's kind of natural during a debate because it's very hard to stay level headed when your personal views are being attacked. Yelling and screaming while posting the same two liner responses in almost every thread for over 6 months is in bad form as far as I'm concerned. The good points that some people have get lost in that seas of bull****.
Who cares, nobody makes 10/11 threes a game in the playoffs so we can keep up with this dumb strategy all we want, 1st round exit it is...
Seriously.... I'm pretty sure nothing in his computer said we should set the fewest screens in the league. That's on McHale.
Like it or not people, Morey does dictate the shot selection of the Rockets. And Morey is not against mid-range shots. He is very against contested mid-range shots. And with good reason. Contested mid-range shots are by far and away the worst shot in basketball. Except interestingly enough, the contested three point shot. However, due to the obvious spacing issues, the closer to the rim the shot is taken the tighter the defensive coverage. The whole purpose of the Rockets offense is to get wide open looks from beyond the arc, and as many at the rim shots as possible. If the opponents start not contesting 12 foot shots you will begin to see the Rockets take a lot of them. But it is much easier to get a wide open three point shot than a wide open 12 foot shot.
By now, everybody knows what shots are good shot and what shots are bad. Don't you think coaches know that too? Heck, JVG knew that a contested 2pt shot is the worse shot in basketball. But his team's offense never looked good, even with two of the best offensive players on the team. Why? one of the main reasons was that his offense was extremely unimaginatively predictable. It is one thing to know in theory what kind of shots are the best shots. It is totally another thing to actually get your players to create those shots, PLUS avoid opposing defense from zeroing in on the predictable. I've said it many times. If you can only do one or two things well, people will find a way to stop you. You have to have more than a couple of weapons.
