in morey's case, he can get a job now in 10 other industries based on his skills and reputation. i'm kind of disappointed that he's decided to be the good little soldier here. maybe les has held him back

Morey is smart, he knows getting on Stern's bad side would work against him in the future.

Maybe if he keeps quiet, Stern will compensate us Rockets fans in the future with a nice draft pick.

And I can't believe I'm saying this. On one hand if it happens, great for the Rockets but just proves this league is corrupted as ****. If it doesn't happen, well this league is still corrupted as **** since they just screwed over a team completely and did absolutely nothing to compensate for it.

"Lowry, Patterson, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic, the NBA's asking price to route Gasol to the Rockets, would have represented five of their top six players.

NBA never wanted that trade to go through. Not Morey's fault.

Not one fool would do that. NBA is really looking after the Hornets.

I truly feel for Morey, the guy has been given a near impossible task by Les and he ALMOST pulled it off. Has to be incredibly fustrating because I'm pretty sure he knows that he needs to regroup and rebuild completely but Les refuses and he feels loyalty and pride. He believes he can do it but in reality, I just don't see how.

I don't know about that. This may be a bit biased, but the NBA probably doesn't care enough about the Rockets to make any compensation.

If Morey sues the league and forces Stern to resign, he should be president.

This. It is time to move on. We need to stop whining. This was the most ridiculous event in the NBA in a long long time and unfortunately we were the team most affected by the decision. But there is nothing we can do about it. The plan was good. Other teams continue making the same stupid decisions by spending ridiculous amounts of money with a more restrictive cap. Good things will come along in either 2012 or 2013, via trade and maybe even a nice tank draft pick.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but with the exceptions of Chuck Hayes and Marcus Morris, isn't this exactly the same team as last year?

How many teams are mostly intact after any 3 year period?

Dude i really think we are worse off without chuck and without and Adelman-coached offense. We don't have a freaking center. Say what you will about Chuck's size, but at least he was a wide body and gifted defensive player in the paint. I'm not trying to be a negative Nilly or anything, but I think we take a step back this year. That said, maybe the maturation of our young talent will have a big impact (but likely not enough to overcome not having a freaking center).
