Playoff Roster is set in April, if I'm not mistaken.

The good thing is the Rockets are now very flexible for years to come. If they want to go after a player now they can. Finally gone are the disaster type contracts of Kelvin Cato, Maurice Taylor and the like.

But you have to sign with a team sometime in early March in order to be eligible for that team's playoff roster.

He would be eligible for OUR playoff roster but not the Spurs because the Spurs have to wait 30 days in order to re-sign him. It's exactly like the Stackhouse situation with Dallas.

Giving up Scola has helped us greatly and I'm sure it gives Pop's a sleepless night but that has nothing to do with the current situation if it can work out for them.
Thanks for the clarification guys.Let's see what happens.

I honestly don't think the Spurs want him. They're been trying to trade him ever since they got him and their set at his position anyway.

In the cavs/chi/sea trade, Sonics traded 2 players for 3. They must waive a player. Of those three Ira Newble is the only one with an expiring contract.

If Newble is the only expiring vet waived maybe they'll keep Barry, hope not. Fingers crossed on that one.

I thought we are in a "Win Now" mode when we traded for Battier...
I thought Morey said we are aiming for Championship EVERY seaon...

And now we still have 29 games left and he is talking about next season? WTF...

Lets wait and see them actually play a game before we assume he isn't getting any minutes.

You're right because 35 year old guards usually play like they are 25 after a trade and knucklehead 21 year olds turn into seasoned vets by switching uniforms.

There is nothing ridiculous about using common sense.

It's close, but I think I'd rather have Newble than Barry.

Yeah, this is MY account. My friend who mostly posts uses it. But I was still hoping Green could help in some way because of the lack of depth now due to the loss of Bonzi.

Totally different story. Scola was about to sign a deal in Europe. He'll never play for Spurs. Bonzi is very useful against big guards who can post-up in playoffs, when both Luther and Alston would get killed.

Newble is actually having a pretty good year. He'd be a good addition as well.
