I thought he was working on something to surprise all of us. Well, at least we made a good move on getting rid of Mike James.

morey said that they now have the flexibility to pick up a veteran player that may come around along the road..
Recap -typed as listened to..... Asked about Mike Miller - not going to get him for a bag of beans said they raised their price since Gasol was gone. Said price on Artest was too high.....obviously because no one paid it. Talk about the BJ trade, was it dictated by finances? Morey - Made for this season - and it gives us flexibility going forward, it is NOT a move for the team to make more money.....this year had to sit out big pieces trades, but next year thinks they are in a position to be a major player in the trading market with the contract situation next year. Says that asking AB to handle all these minutes in the playoff push is a bit much....and that Bobby knowing the system and the coach will help adjustment period. Asked him who is going to fill Bonzi's minutes - DM - Bonzi is playing more minutes than normal because of others not being healthy....Scola/Head/Landry will pick up the time left over from Bonzi Asked about Fans saying - Why now? Because team is so hot, why upset the apple cart? Morey - Obvioiusly - if everything is equal, don't shake it up, but he thinks bigger mistakes are made by focusing on how team is playing in the last 5 -10 games.....and look at a longer view....agreed with me in saying the backup PG spot is more important than the backup SG/SF or wing spot. And being big at the 4 makes us better defensively. And feels Bonzi's role was going to be more limited going forward.....so he was easily tradeable. Talking about finding Snyder a spot.....and Gerald Green......What do you like about Green when you were in Boston and now, and how does it figure now? Morey - LIkes him as a solid kid who is a hard worker on his game and is really young.....this move allows the Rockets the flexibility to sign some potential veteran free agents that may come available in the next week or two, and to add a guy like Gerald Green who probably won't be on the floor much, and will get a real look at him to see if he can help in the future, and also have the inside track with the CBA issue.... Thinks it is a multiple positive. Asked about D league and again, Morey said Green is too long in the league to play in the D league.... Morey said he is an unrestricted Free Agent but hold the upper hand in signing him based upon impact against MLE etc.... Does Morey feel Houston has a chance. Morey - Yes, it is going to be a dog fight, but that it is going to be the most competitive western conference ever, and believes that Houston has put itself in position to compete with anyone they might play in the playoffs. Matt and Rich.....said good luck against Miami.... And they said have Jon Barry call his brother Brent and put in a good word...Morey (nervous laugh) I can't do anything about that. Recap DONE DD
duck and dodge, bob and weave...usual GM talk he did confirm Green won't see the floor much and is beyond D league eligibility
So does anybody know the list of "veteran player" candidates that might be available in the next week or two? That nervous chuckle at the end made it seem like one of those players may be Brent Barry
people are raving over Green insinuating T-mac comparisons and contributor the Freakin GM that traded for him wants to change the rules in sending people to the D league so he can contribute to our GREAT success in the minor, people will just say anything no matter how crap the trades to justify their positions, The trades today were cheap and pathetic, way to show confidence in the core of this team this year, Bravo
