Daryl Morey to be fined? [Update: Morey fined $150,000 per ESPN]

The rule is dumb. And making the fine so large just magnifies the dumbness of the rule. You want the team that wins the biggest free agent prize of the offseason to do no public celebration for a week? I thought Stern was supposed to be smart about marketing the NBA brands.

I'm pretty sure Morey is straight salary with a performance bonus. No way Nike is paying a pudgy old white dude to wear their shoes.

 

A parting shot from Stern at the Rockets. The man couldn't help himself. He simply had to punish Morey for being the GM who made the Lakers look like chump change.
