unless u get kobe, wade, or lebron, 1 player ain't gonna do what tmac does.

unless u get 2-3 good to all-star caliber players, ur not gonna replace tmac.

b/c u know yao can't carry a team yet. so in essence, you're rebuilding and wasting yao's prime years.

Morey: Are you comfortable with the coach change?
Yao: I am very comfortable in the couch.
Morey: Good, he is comfortable too.

When asked about possible coach replacement:

He said something like "We have carefully reviewed a list of candidates which is done to one and we are confident that is the right choice."

What we just hired a coach without ever going through an application process?

I mean Adelman is a good choice but what happened to making analytic assessments by Morey especially now since JVG is officially out of the way?

At least go through a half dozen interviews maybe bring in Larry Brown, Rick Carlisle or someone else for coffee and just take it over. I think Rockets are rushing this decision and not taking the time to fully inspect all the other prospects.

Morey was also on 610 radio a little while ago. When asked about how to improve the team he mentioned penetrating guards and a back up center because of Mutombo's uncertain situation.

I'm pretty sure of what I heard on 610 and he did say that the list was short on he come down to ONE candidate which is he thought was the right choice.

How much you want to bet the reason they fired JVG is because when Moorey put the numbers in the machine, he magically discovered that for the past 4 years, the percentage of JVG coached teams making it into the second round was 0.00%

Deja vu from when Charlie Thomas made Steve Patterson be the heavy and say that Hakeem was faking an injury as a contract negotiation ploy.

Since GM is a statistician, you got to accustom to their style.

"Did you know that if you torture the data long enough, that eventually it will confess?"

Thank you Clutch! At least we have something concrete to hold him to. With this Morey takes a step up in my book but not to be trusted till his actions speak louder than his words. If he selects Aldleman [60yrs]for Head Caoch I only hope that they bring in younger assistants.

Uh oh, Morey said the worst words he could possibly say:

"We don't feel we're championship caliber," said Morey. "A lot has been made recently about that in the papers, but there's no question that we need to upgrade the team and that's on me to get that done."

We know what happened the last time another person said that...

No surprise about Mutombo. Is there ANY coach in the league that could get out of Mutombo what JVG did? Mutombo's game was TAILOR made for JVG's slow down pace. I love Mutombo. But I think it's audios with Adelman in here.

And more importantly is the mention of "penetrating guards." I totally agree. That is the missing aspect. Think San Antonio with Ginobili and Parker.
