would Lin still be on the Rockets if the Gasol trade had gone through?

actually, yes... if we would of traded dragic, we would of needed a 3rd string pg behind flynn AND when we realized flynn sucked, lin would of got a chance and he would of been big star in houston... this is once again... all david sterns fault.

man the consequences of that nixed trade are unreal

I wonder if that has anything to do with Houston getting the All Star game, a peace offering from Stern.

You can add Novak to the picture, he's also been a big contributor to the Knicks winning streak...sigh

He didint trust Lin. I was tracking Lin before He became Linsanity. Lin was tearing it up in dleague. He was screaming whereever he could play extensively ... let me play. You still gotta give credit to dantoni that he did give the key to him.

I'm surprised Lin can still walk. You know, with all the people swinging from his nads.

DD, you , remember that nytimes piece on Lin when he was in Harvard. I thought the kid shoul play in China or Taiwan professionally because that would best fulfill his talent. Man, you get lost with in the institutional bias agaist asian Americans. Lin is huge.d

As a GM this is a huge slap in the face. I know that Morey admitted it, and I respect that, but you have to wonder who else is minding the store while the suits sit at their desk all day. Go LOOK at your stable!

The GM brings in the talent, it's up to the coach to evaluate who plays. Doesn't matter thought because Morey brought in the coach who made those decisions.

I feel that every player on a roster should be made to compete for their spot every day. This happens allot more in the NFL. The cream will rise to the top then and your starters will never get complacent.

I'm sorry but why is this a huge slap in the face? Lin was waived by GS and nobody picked him up. Is this a huge slap to everyone in the league apart from the Knicks? LMAO, you're acting like Lin would have gotten PT in Houston. Lowry's still miles ahead of him, and Dragic's probably the same way. Once the roster frees up we'll sign Ish Smith, he'll produce at the same rate Lin would have.

Terrible idea. You need some consistency to run plays.

No one in their right mind saw this coming. No one.

Can't blame morey for missing here.

Lin was put in a situation where the other key starters on the Knicks was injured...he was the only option. I think he discovered himself here, and confidence is a big big big part of basketball.

I am happy for the kid but you can't get too upset here. Be happy for him because maybe he would have never really had the chance here or anywhere...he was put into a situation that needed a hero and he rose tithe occassion....maybe that is what it took to unleash him and why no one saw it before.
