Wow guys are already to claim the dude as a top 5 PG or something.

Sometimes stuff like this happens. Remember Brandon Jennings? He came into the league and tore things up for like 2 weeks or so. Making everyone that passed on him looked silly for that time, I remember he even had a 50 point game. Everyone was saying he was legit and blah blah blahbeblah.

Guys get hot. There was a guy named Aaron Brooks who got hot for about a year and people thought he was one of the best scoring PGs in the NBA.

What I ask of the Lin-fans to calm down. 4 games does not make a career.

    so let me ask again,

what if Lin was not going 100% before and that's why so many teams passed on him? What if possibly being cut by the Knicks, his third team, suddenly woke him up? Maybe he felt like he had nothing to lose and that allowed him to step up?

I'm just not convinced that Morey messed up. There were too many opportunities for other teams to acquire him or pick him up and it didn't happen. All signs point to Lin playing at a different level now than before, rather than a screw up in evaluating talent by 30 teams. FOUR times, because if someone out there knew he was worth more than was perceived by all, they sure would have traded for him by "overpaying" some. Not drafted, not traded for in GS, Houston, or NY.

then why do we have 4 2009 busts and paying them $15M per year?

Even if we did restore sanity here on clutchfans the rest of the nation will continue the hype while laughing at us for letting Lin go. The longer he can keep this up the worse it will get and the worse our front office will look. Time will tell though if he can continue to keep this up. He is currently being hyped up like a superstar atm, weather he can keep this up or not is all up to Lin.

    Lets see

    Rudy Gay
    Jeremy Lin
    Nicholas Batum

Ih yeah Morey is good at getting these guys. As he has shown. Then showing them right to do the door. He has an eye on talent. He also has a quick trigger to get rid of the good ones. Good job moron.

They supposedly have tons of value since they are expiring.

he shouldn't be able to answer this with anything other than "good point", but expect a cringe-worthy response to be coming soon anyway.

Other teams couldn't beat out Houston, due to the worse record that guaranteed Houston won the waiver wire.

Lets also not forget that Morey is also a crappy recruiter. His selling point to Chris Bosh was an Ipad for christ sakes.

Fair enough, but at the same time, assets (especially unknown commodities such as Lin) need to be utilized in order to attain any level of value, correct? Otherwise, no one has a clue what they are capable of. Jeremy would have never gotten a shot here unless Lowry or Dragic were traded, and probably Flynn as well. Maybe if the Pau deal went through he would have stuck around since Dragic was involved. But as it played out, it is what it is. He is in one of the few situations in the league where he would have an opportunity, and he seized it by the throat. Good for the kid. Glad it's working out for him, just wish it was with a different team.

It's not helping Morey that Lin is doing this on the best stage, New York, where the entire country is watching.

I'm not saying he's a top 5 PG but he's impressed a lot of folks given the opportunity. For what it's worth, Lin has gained the respect from the league. Good for him!

Thabeet and Flynn are by-products. The real prize from those maneuverings was a 1st round pick with which we acquire Motiejunas. Wait and see on him.

And I can't criticize the Rockets for acquiring Jordan Hill along with Martin and a 1st rounder from the Knicks.

Terrence Williams was the one guy that the Rockets really sought out, giving up a future 1st round pick for him. And no one denies that he has very good talent. That's not enough, though, to be a good NBA player.

I erased the first 5 things I wrote in response to this thread. Have to say, I'm totally at a loss right now. Yes it's still a small sample size, but wow, he's playing very well. Can Lin be this good? I've got to believe he'll come back down to earth some.

Him helping the Knicks pile up wins is what I'm most concerned with.

Maybe when Amare and Melo come back, he won't get many touches and they start to lose again. I'm seriously at a loss, I can't believe we are watching Lin eat up the league right now.
