This is a thread where people should be able to speak their minds, if Clutch isn't telling people to be quiet, the "9-3 DURP DURP!" r****ds need to realize they have no place in policing the place. Put the "9-3" into context first of all. From what I've been reading, even the people that disagree about Morey admit that this is extremely worrisome...and you can bet your ass that Morey is loosing sleep over this already. Its a pattern waiting to repeat itself.
Getting the 14th pick is better than making the playoffs and getting bounced in the first round, which is what happened when we had a better bench last season.

Those of us who are objective about this team, and I think including Morey, were already alarmed at 9-1 because the last two wins were in close games vs ****ty teams. The team was showing signs of cracking and we saw what happens next. The team had an 8 game good stretch, mostly against weak competiton, and 4 bad games. The best estimate of what they are is their overall numbers during all 12 games-- and those numbers are unsatisfactory if the team wants to make a good run in the playoffs.
Morey: "You need more guys who can break down the defense." Sad truth is that even Harden can not break down the defense when 1on1 and often settle for step-back jump shots. Pick and Roll is the only way to go for this Rocket team. Like Jerry sloan's Utach Jazz, P&R the hell out of everybody.
Lowry was going to come here, but we asked him to wait as we were pursuing Melo/Bosh at the time. Lowry wasn't going to wait over a week for it all to play out. Lowry said he was a phone call away from joining the Rockets.
yup...and they shot the 3 ball too well...would eventually come down....I actually think their winning margin should have been closer to 20, given their 3 pt shooting and weakness of opponents. Garbage time was a factor, but still..
Not sure why people are complainig about the lack of Daniels playing. The guys who are getting the PG/smallish combo guard minutes are Beverley, Terry and Canaan (while Beverley was out). Each of these guys have been shooting very well from the 3 point arc. Meanwhile, Daniels only hit 27% of his 26 3 pointers attempted. So why should the Rockets play Daniels over these other guys? Daniels also does not defend like Beverley, dribble drive like Canaan, or brings veteran experience like Terry. If anything, the Rockets should give Canaan some minutes before they go to Daniels. Canaan has his own flaws but the team needs his quickness and dribble drive more than the team needs another spot up shooter.
people get seduced by his three point shooting, which has been rubbish this season. He hit a couple of big shots in the playoffs and people think he should play lots he probably would if he could hit a shot
Probably hard to keep hitting continuously when you don't get sufficient minutes to establish any kind of rhythm.
This. Everybody jumps off a cliff after every rough patch in the season. Then we'll win some big games and they'll be right back on board. Happens every year...
Most of Daniels three point attempts have been in garbage time and appear to be forced / not in flow of a harden or Howard kick out. Daniels will get open looks with harden /Howard and knock them down.
Sure. But Jason Terry is hitting 46% of his 3s. You think Daniels would have done better than 46%? Beverley is hitting 44% and Canaan 41% on the 3s also. We are not exactly debating Ish Smith vs. Troy Daniels here.
