been told it will fail on the start of the season, failed exactly the way you were told, then response with sticking on the failed system. this is just pathetic.
Somehow, over the last couple years, CH has gotten on drugs and lost his mind. It's the only reasonable explanation, other than mental illness... oh...wait...
Daryl Morey on 790 - (11/6/2014) a few minutes back. Please note just trying to post this as I listen. I expect J.R. to have a more comprehensive word to word excerpt. Nothing much. Main thing DM emphasized was how the coaching staff has been focussed on defense from Day 1. The players have bought in. 790: How are you doing? DM: Good. We are 5-0 so that's as good as it gets. 790: Ariza joined Houston so easily and came in for part 2. I didn't like part 1 but he has turned into a quality distant shooter and with Dwight and Harden he is going to get open looks. DM: Testament to hard work. He has got an unbelievable routine where he comes in and shoots and shoots and shoots. Trainers and coaches were worried about Ariza wearing himself out with the routine he has. 790: Routine showing it's paying off obviously. Night and day between the Ariza of now and his last stint. Do you think he was putting too much pressure on himself with that contract? DM: Yeah we brought him with the core of Yao and TMac. We thought he could be our future Battier with his shooting and defense. After they struggled with injuries, he just put a ton of pressure on himself to step up and be that guy. Now he has won a title, knows what it takes and how to fit in with the teammates we have. He has become one of the team leaders. 790: Early but never early for a big test. Rockets went into Miami on a back to back and looked like the more energetic team going on a 18-5 run. Now is the biggest test with the defending champs in town. What's the mentality of the team going in? DM: Yeah, we just have to keep it rolling. Win back to back in Utah is not easy and then in Miami, obviously a place we haven't won in a while and they were playing well. Other thing winning by more than 10. We feel good about how the team is playing and where we can go. 790: 0 over and 5 under according to Vegas. Playing defense = winning? Your team has played more consistent D and that includes the man who took so much heat last spring James Harden. DM: I think the whole team from day 1 in camp. Coach McHale set the tone. Becoming a contender is going to be about D. We know that will be a good offensive team. Coaches spent 75-80% of training camp playing defense that we were worried about offense (giggles). With Harden seeing Pat and Ariza set the tone, he has followed and boguht in. Mentality has been a big factor in our D. 790: How big of that was McHale saying he is going to dedicate himself to the defensive end? Ariza also being a defensive presence. DM: From day 1 he said, I'm going to focus on this. We are going to get better. He told J.B. to go out there and study the teams that have good D. Steve Buckner, TR Dunn. Top to bottom, the dedication from coaching staff has been there. Every one is on the same page. 790: If TR Dunn can't get you excited about D no one can. How great is that? DM: He has the body still to play and we wish he could be playing. He was defensive stalwart in those Denver teams. I love to dial back the clock and add him to the team. I'll take McHale first and then TR.
Damn Carl Herrera. Either you're doing an excellent job of trolling or you have seriously lost your damn mind.
Compared with our west conference rivals, I think we still need Morey to do more work to make us be a real contender.
Les Alexander recognizes the need to improve. It takes two to make a deal as he pointed out. Hopefully, the Rockets can get something done by the February deadline, or possibly before it.
