I caught that too, but I try not to editorialize when recapping. I think it is obvious that they value offense more than defense. DD
Yeah that's good. That's probably the only time you don't editorialize. All the other times, you're 100% biased editorial opinions!
Thanks for the recap though, DD. Does anyone have a link? Not that I don't trust DD's "unbiased" recap, but I like to listen to things for myself.
Yeah, i'm still convinced Daryl has built a team that can make the playoffs. obviously we need to add another star at the deadline and to even get to that point we have to play like a team that can make the playoffs. but all those fair-weather fans who are giving up on the Rockets and bashing Morey need to relax. I have some concerns about the level of defensive attention adleman brings to his system, but hopefully more defensive intensity will compensate. We need to play harder on the defensive end and we need Brooks and Yao back ASAP. Also, Bud, or Lee really need to step up. this is a prime opportunity for one of those guys to prove he's a special player.
I'm sorry, but who cares about having a team that can just make the playoffs this year to get old and fail next year or the year beyond. Everything Morey said was pretty much what posters here have guessed at. No firm confirmations, but reading between the lines it is all there. It is sad that I almost find myself hoping that Brooks and Yao take longer to come back so that the Morey can have reason to start over. Frankly, I find myself watching more games of other teams, rooting for the underdogs to win to help the Rocket's draft chances. Now if only the Knicks can go like a 10 game losing streak...
rpr, you're being too negative. If the Rockets make the playoffs, you're telling me you won't get excited and thrilled? Of course you will. Stop being such a fairweather fan, and support your team and players!
rpr, There are no guarantees that if you go to rebuild you will get that star player, look at Portland and Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Us with Yao Ming. The Clippers look to have finally gotten that guy in Blake Griffin, but there are very few teams that succeed. While I agree that going through the draft is key, I think the Rockets are doing about the best they can. I am not sold on the "Trade for a superstar" as a strategy, but I am sold on Morey, other than his clearly marketing for the masses approach about some things...lol....like Bosh. DD
Did you just refernece Obama and DM in the same sentence..... ...Politics has no place in sports....keep your political opinions to yourself homie....
Well the players you mentioned where drafted by their respected teams.....and they are now all damaged goods to some degree. My point is whats wrong with the "Trade for a superstar" strategy..? It only makes sense to go after a proven star then assume you will get one in the draft. Many teams have failed to be that sucessful in that departnent. The first option should be to make a trade for a star then draft well and hopefully you can draft a stude to play with or compliment your star player......IT IS WRITTEN. and thanks for the post....
Appreciate the recap DD. I dont think that our defense will be top 10 this season even with yao in the lineup. Given his lack of conditioning and lack of lateral movement and the fact that we dont have another defensive center ala mutombo in the middle when the 24 min are up.
Leave the political crap out of the GARM, OK? There's a forum full of lunatics (like me) who fight, scratch, argue, and weep about that stuff in D&D. Clutch does NOT want that mess in here. I'd report you, but I must be in a good mood. Chill, dude. It ain't funny.
Either get a super star by the deadline or tank. The franchise needs a shot in the arm. Either of those options are the only ways to do so.
