Hey you get what you pay for. You paid nothing for that recap. Oh Daryl also talked about some other stuff other then the Rockets. So that's even more recap then you bargained for. ....I'm sure someone will recap it, durvasa usually does.
No detailed recap this time from me (I'm still bummed about the loss). The most important parts I took from it: - The Rockets will definitely be looking to add a 7-footer later in the year. - The Rockets like Rafer for his defense and leadership, and they feel he can shoot well enough for them to win with him. - Francis is not really improving at the expected rate. He said they're "hopeful" he can return, but I think he really doubts he's coming back. - Teams are going to start attacking Brooks more on defense, and the Rockets are trying to prepare him for that. I don't remember much else.
The Rockets are 3-1, and Rafer has shot like 20% from the field. If Rafer can shooting just 38%, the Rockets should win a lot of games. I remember last year, when Rafer shot at least 42% from the field we had an insane record, like 22-3 or something. He's probably right, though it's still painful to have to endure his bricks.
I agreed, we need to make a decision now on our PG situation. Chicago is looking to shop either Hinrich or gordon. Noted that Hinrich isn't really a great shooter himself, he is just another alston with better shooting worst defense, and about same passing skills. He is also younger and could endure more punishment and could be little less injury prone. He is also making 10 millions a year. Gordon is making about 6 to 7 millions, looking for bigger contract and more PT. he is in his last year of contract. If Tmac to be our Point-forward, then we really don't need a true pg like alston and gordon could be a better option as he can attack and shoot. maybe even a pg leading our second unit. we really don't have any pieces that we can give up for either if alston isn't included. right now, head and SF are the only players that I see is wasting our roster spot. we are playing head, if any, would be min PT. which is waste of roster spot. SF is not coming back as his injury is more severe than he would like to admit. I am sensing that Morey is still trying to give the team and RA time to gel before doing anything at the trading deadline.
Brooks will always be a defensive liability. That is why I can never see him being more than a 6th man/backup PG.
Meh, he is within 1 inch of Chris Paul.......most PGs can not post up...so all you have to do is stay in front of them and force them to shoot over you, quickness is more important than an inch or two. Brooks could be the starter, if he learns to control the tempo more.....Rafer needs to go..... DD
Brooks is no more a liability than michael adams, terrell brandon, dana barros or avery johnson. On that rebound he just forgot to box out. Brooks can and should startt for the rox. DD- Isn't that tall, atheletic leaper type the kind of guy I've been talking about for awhile now?
Lee, I would even take an old grizzled veteran like Robert Horry about now. Some one earlier came up with the idea of Sean Williams for Luther and change, now that's something I would do in heartbeat.
not true Height is only one factor of size. Brooks will always be a defensive liability because he is so small that guys can just power through him to get to the rack.
you're talking about the same kirk hinrich that shot like 17.1 % from beyond the arc (33.1 % overall) for the entire first month of last season? the same kirk hinrich that is currently making twice as much money as rafer alston? dd, you're in full bashing mode already. get real.
But you seem to want a Kelvin Cato....if Landry was 2 inches taller he would be exactly what I am talking about a SKILLED guy who can play. Not just a tall guy who is a bigger version of Chuck Hayes. DD
Chris Anderson is getting 5pts 6 rebs and 2.3 blks in 15 mins of action. The rox held their johnson playing hardball with landry and missed on other players. Theo Ratliff, Elson, and guys like that were sitting there.
