I would like to know if Andersen's contract is pending on another move? If it's not "official" then what are we waiting for? FIBA? Another transaction by the team?
I'm sure it has to do with getting a labor visa. Could also be that they are trying to axe some contracts before officially putting him on the cap. In any case, there's usually a document in place detailing the signing agreement.
I want to clarify that I'm aware, that there are many factors taken into by DM and others into a "formula". There are imperfections in every methodology. Ultimately,it's up to the players to perform, and they all have their pluses and minuses.
I'm still thinking over your Everett analogy. I'm not sure how Shane Battier and he are equal. Shane is considered a leader on the Rockets, something Everett has never been considered. Everett also couldn't hit a lick, though his defense was slick. I suppose that's your comparison? No offense, all defense Battier? I definitely disagree with your Ausmus analogy. The "intagibles" were his defense (measured as easily as Everetts), his knowledge of the opposing batters and how to handle a pitching staff. The last two are definitely tangible in my mind. Just listen to those on the club who mention his name now that he's gone. Guys like Oswalt lament the departure oftheir personal caddy. Rodriguez on the other hand has brought a slight increase in offense to the catcher position, but his defense (blocking pitches in the dirt) has been subpar compared to Ausmus.
Daryl Morey said he has a "medium" sized announcement coming this week on twitter. He said "no comment" on whether it's a personnel move.
Morey: "Medium-sized twitter announcement coming sometime this week before Friday." He did not deny that it could be personnel-related.
I have a hard time believing it is a personnel announcement. Twitter just seems not his style to tell us, thx _____ but u have been traded to ______ for ____ & ___ (in under 140 characters none-the-less as well)
That's what I'm thinking. I'd say it's either the alternate uniforms or officially signing David Andersen.
Nice guess. I don't think it will be the official signing of David Andersen. Morey mentioned that the contract wouldn't be finalized until some time NEXT week.
