Daryl Morey is so overrated

Not saying it "works". Obviously Morey has quite a bit of work to do this season. No need to go into what he should do because I think that's been well covered.

I guess I'm just not convinced he's a "blithering idiot" because he traded somebody who's played about 30 minutes combined this season because of a very serious injury.

I should be furious too. Harden is flawed, Morey is realizing his grand plan might be failing without someone like Durant(that even possible?) and we have an owner with virtually no grand vision and no clue how to execute anything.

Wait how did he ruin it...He brought everyone back that he could and added Ty (who no one expected to be garbage)...

He's not an idiot right now, he's paying for being one in the past. His decisions have led to the cluster of a mess we've found ourselves in. If he gets credit for the WCF, he takes the blame for discrediting chemistry/coaching/depth. He's been chasing his big 3 fantasy for as long as I can remember, and shown competent FAs the wind. The team is in TANK MODE. Make no mistake, it was clear 10 games in when 75% of the forum was criticizing people who saw it for being pessimists. The only difference is, is that the GM has openly made that clear now. We need to stock pile picks and tank for a while. This isn't an attractive FA destination and Harden has a bad rep for others having to pick up his slack on the defensive end. That being said, he could have gotten a better package than this. This reeks of a guy pulling string after string while he's on the hot seat.

Morey is classic. He makes successful moves one year and then the next years he will make several mistakes that set the team back couple years.

Then in the same year he makes another bandaid move like the Smoove move that works, then he lets Smoove go in order to sign him back 5 months later.

This is a rinse and repeat till one throws up.

When Adelman was here his last year, the rockets were actually in a better position for a playoff spot.

Daryl in his own words has stated "Its the results that matter." It doesn't matter if he has a star player or not, the team is a mess and will have to be gutted. His experiment failed and blew up in his face.

You will hear no arguments from me on this. I definitely agree. I would add onto that: getting players who fit his philosophy.

I want him fired......unless this was step one to a larger trade that makes the team better now....He has to go.

I actually have some closure now. I'm a rockets fan, not a harden, morey, dwight fan. I will be rooting for this team a decade from now and want to make sure they are in the best position to still be successful. This team is fools gold, its time to realize that and build for the future---as much as I hate watching the goal of your season being "making the playoffs" or tanking enough games to get a top pick. I have always watched and will continue to.

I kinda reached this point as well. I was waiting for today's deadline to really take a firm stance, and now that we know nothing's happening and nothing will change, I'm with you. Just got to endure the rest of this season...

I will agree with this...I'm just questioning the poster who said he ruined the team that made the WCF. My problem is he failed to improve it.

Getting Ty was supposed to negate the loss of losing Josh's playmaking while also getting backcourt help. However, he probably could have gone after someone like Belinelli—who fits the philosophy—with a combination of the KJ, Thornton, Brew, or JET money.

Not just Dmo but Thornton too for a SCRUB....and a future pick....I mean we had a chance to turn it around but instead went full on Hinkie mode.

There is no scenario in which Daryl was heavily cautioned against DMos longterm health relative to what he'd demand in RFA making this a prudent move?

While you're free to disagree with the move for the pick itself, I think you're adult enough to recognize this trade was for the pick, not for Joel Anthony. So presenting it as anything else is silly.

You don't RUN an organization on "Avoiding risk" you have to "TAKE RISKS" to win.....

The Rockets are so risk averse they will never ever win that way, never.

It is a good player who has a UNIQUE skillset for a Maybe -that is NOT winning team building.

    FIRE MOREY !

He has to convince Alexander if the team really takes the direction to tank.
