guys.. i gotta admit, not even in my wildest dream i could have imagined that t-mac being out due to ****ING CONDITIONING problem this season... jesus christ, fat t-mac?
It was better for him to sit and take his time and get back to your body shape, than to suck on the court which wasn't helping the team.
another interesting point is the coaching staffs completely abandoned the idea to run yao at high post. i absolutely support this decision. yao is the most efective at low block.
I hear you, but take my word on this: Matt is making the best of a bad situation. He has a long track record of Rockets excellence. Rich Lord is not very good and Bullard is not always candid. There are a couple of times when I've listened to the Rockets Hour and it's been excellent.
Our coaching staff is reactive versus proactive in pointing out inconsistencies to the refs. Just watch Popovich at the sidelines and most importantly during timeouts, he is always talking to the refs. When Mutombo is lobbying to the refs during timeouts more than the coach it's no wonder the refs think the way they call the game is ok.
I wish we could hear more from the players you know? Like I never hear Yao or T-Mac on the radio. The only time I've heard T-Mac is on the radio is for 97.9 the boxx. Other cities are able to do it but it seems as if we can't get the same thing. One more thing, Mark and Andre suck!
yes, I enjoy Matt Jackson's take on the Rockets, but Rich Lord is the most god-awful talk show host on the air here in Houston, I agree that he really bogs down the show. I really like Bullard too, I like how he talks alot about the X's and O's of the game and talks about what the players go through during road trips, how they react to different situations etc...he can be a lil flat at times, but nothing was worse than Mario Elie. His mono-tone voice nearly put me to sleep. yes, yes, and yes, but they always seem to have the players on.
When Mario Elie was still a player, he was very plugged into the NBA and was a terrific interview. Ever since he focused on trying to become a head coach, caution has been the word with him. So much so that it's a complete waste of time to interview the guy. Obviously the ratings on AM610 must be good enough for Marc and Andre to stay despite how weak they are. The local competition from the other stations is pathetic. If just one of them would move on and let Adam Clanton or Mattj into that slot, I might go back to listening every morning at home.
No, get a work up of the fouls whistled on Yao and the non-whistles v Yao and the whistles they do call on Yao and get the PR department to sell that idea to TNT for one of their shows. Now, that would light a fire under the Commish and Stuey 'Overmatched (in all situations)' Jax.
they can do that without a deadline. i like that the team is setting goals for tracy to meet in order for him to play. what if by 2 weeks, b/c tracy felt he's obligated by the deadline and says he feels good, and then struggles again. but i do agree with you, see how he moves and jumps in practice. if he can go hard and attempt to dunk, then he's ready. if he can't dunk "with ease," more rest is needed. ask him if he can do that 360 liberty dunk like he did v. the bulls last yr.
T-Mac has been in the league for 11 years. He's had plenty of experience dealing with injuries, and coming back from them. So why is he still struggling with the "mental" stuff?
We should know he is mentally WEAK. It is pretty simple. If he goes ou there and dunks hard in the practice, he will see his knee is ok. Because before the rest (I hope it has changed) I felt like he was just afraid. He was afraid that his knee was gonna give up after a dunk attempt. He has to BELIVE.
Maybe because this is the first time he has come back from surgery, no matter how minor it was, and this was the minorist of minor... DD
Yea, if he can jump off his cleaned out knee and touch the top of the square with no problem, then I would tell him he's ready to go. I will admit that he has very little explosion, but its not his knee and its more the muscle and conditioning around the knee that will help get the explosion back. I think he still has it and for example I am 6"0 tall and could still dunk a basketball off two legs when I was 34 yrs old (its been all down hill after 35 though). I know T-Mac has played alot of basketball through out his career, but he is still only 29yrs old and the athletic skills he may have slightly lossed compared to most NBA players who never had them in first place.
