I'm glad Daryl is suffering along with the rest of us. This season is threatening to shart its pants. Whatever happens, I still have faith in Morey to make the tough decisions and complex moves that may be necessary to give us hope again. Even wizards have bad days.
OMG did you listen to the whole interview?? OMG did you read the rest of the thread?? He's there because the D-league is there... they have a "showcase"
I got that he felt the issues were more psychological than personnel, but I thought he clearly hinted a trade was being pursued. I'm surprised the interviewers didn't pick up on that, and draw something more out of him.
OMG I knew about the showcase and all that beeing in Utah. However I swear I heared them say: "...everyone wednesday morning Morey in Utah."
Actually I thought it sounded like he wants the change to come from "within". He was talking about both the Celtics and the Rockets feel like the change can't come from the outside (ie trade) it has to come from inside. He did talk about keeping that last roster space open until near the trade deadline. I think Daryl is always listening to offers about trades but I don't know if he actively wants to blow this thing up at this point from the sound of it.
I think they just meant because he calls in every Wednesday morning... not from Utah every Wednesday morning Edit: Dang it.. sorry for posting twice in a row!!
then he is not as smart as i thought he was at this point tracy has lost the support of his teammates, his coaches, many rocket fans, so i'm not sure why Daryl refuses to part with him. yes i know a tmac trade will be a loss of talent, but i am not interested in having the most talented team in the league, I want my rockets to succeed. so many of those guys deserve better than this.
Not to kick a dead horse or Morey who'm I think he and his staff are exceptional talent scouts, but Mario Chalmers picked right after Dorsey would have been a great pick up as a third point guard and someone who could eventually supplant Skip to my Brick in the starting lineup.
these stupid interviewers didn't even ask him if doc rocket is indeed a multi-faced coalition acting in concert or just one riddled whistleblower acting on his lonesome
I think about the same thing everytime I see a Miami boxscore. Chalmers would have been PERFECT for the Rockets. Shoots the 3, plays defense, tons of steals, good size. Even if Dorsey pans out Chalmers was the better pick/player.
I'm not convinced he's refusing... but trading T-Mac is a big challenge and you have to make the right deal. Is 2010 still the plan for the Rockets? If so, the Rockets won't want to take on contracts beyond 2010 ... T-Mac's contract alone has more value to the team in that case. His trading value also likely goes up starting in the offseason and ticking towards February 2010.
True, and the FA class of 2009 is not as good as 2010, if there were some great ones than sure why not. I would consider Iverson though, or even Arenas.......and at the very end, if the Rockets need to cut bait...Marbury. DD
a couple things were popped out from listening his talk. he mentioned when yao was out our defense was bad and gave up too many layups. another thing is wafer. he is good but his defense is bad. he mentioned wafer thought he was small but morey disagreed. morey thought he is big at 2. then, they joked around PP will fake an injury tonight.
Morey needs to get some rest and take care of himself. Recharge. Fast. There's only so long one can drive one's self no matter how superhuman they may be. I want Morey to be able to make good decisions. The best decisions. Come up with masterful genius plans. If things really warrant being down and all that, we're gonna need it
