I remember when people here wanted him gone, accused him of kicking cans when we had no assets or talent to trade for or lure superstar talent.
I've noticed Morey isn't that fat, he's just fat in the face. Congrats to Morey.. One of the best GM's in the game.
Morey hasn't even done anything in 2018 besides sign busty Joe & broken Brandan! He hasn't done anything since winning this award an hour ago! Come on, do something Daryl! amirite @Carl Herrera?
Executive of the year is a curse? I know COY and MIP have a bit of a cursed history; I'm not aware of the EOY curse.
Every award is a curse! The NBA Title is a curse! Look at what happened to Michael Jordan after he won 6! Forced to retire, then forced to come back as a "Wizard," suffered for 2 years in Washington, then had to run the "Hornets." Now he's a meme. Cursed!
Hey Daryl Morey, good job! And thanks. Now, just bring some semblance of our championship jerseys back.
I remember almost 10 years ago to this date sitting in my parents’ living room at 9pm at night. Playing the very last mission of Mass Effect the summer before my senior year of high school. Out of nowhere Daryl Morey pulled off a trade to acquire Ron Artest for a package centered around Donte Greene (who?). Man I was so ecstatic. We finally had a big 3 to compete against Boston and LA. It was our time. I was so hyped I didn’t sleep that night until like 3 am. I was just constantly scouting clutchfans and the internet looking over news stories about the trade. In fact I remember the exact cf thread. It was then that I realized that Morey is the real deal. He had just gotten us two steals in the previous year’s draft. Now Artest. McGrady and Yao finally had help. Anyway, that didn’t work out that well for reasons beyond his control. Now, 10 years later after a historic 65 win season, the guy is finally getting the hardware to go along with the recognition he deserves. We just need the all important hardware next.
Murray, West (VP), and Ainge, then everyone else. Very lucky indeed, sooo much fun always having such an active front office, warts and all.
I know you’re reading this so thank you so much for all you’ve done for our Franchise and the City of Houston Darnell!
