Every single one of moreys failures tends to workout for the best Pau trade Bosh signing Im sure there are others
Swell. So Morey kept Capela so D'Antoni can keep his ass on the bench for more than half the game against the best team in the league. The game is about matchups, and Capela is just not that valuable in today's NBA and certainly not versus the Warriors.
You can maybe fault Morey for the size of Ryno's contract, but he wasn't alone in thinking that the cap was going to be higher this summer. Hell, all the GMs in the league thought so. As for this trade falling through, that's on Melo. There's no way the Knicks hold on to him very far into the season, so if he'd just had the balls to hold to his original NTC demand of Rockets-only, he'd end up here. Not Morey's fault if Melo got cold feet.
obviously not caplea but gordon? even before mchale, this team has alays been a good offensive team. wtih melo we dont need eg3. we need defense. this team needs more defense and more scorers who can consistently make their own shot. we only have two of those in harden and eg. plus eg still a risk with ath injury history. i wont trust him fully till he puts 2 straight healthy years. and like ariza, we play him too much so that wont help.
True, Melo caved in the end, he needed to hold strong for this weekend and he'd be bought out or traded here by the sound of it. Sounds like OKC worked hard on getting him to open his trade list.
Morey pursued Anderson for years and he finally has him. Our offense absolutely exploded last year, and Anderson played a major role in that. Look, I get it, the dude gets paid a lot and he plays awful at home. He's an overpaid specialist. But, he's the best 3 point shooting big man in the league in my opinion, and the spacing that he provides gives us a giant advantage on offense most nights. I've also got to believe that his shooting in the Toyota Center has to improve this season. If the move was as simple as swapping Anderson for Melo, of course you do that all day. However, adding Gordon, Capela, or Ariza to this deal would be too much. All of those guys are major pieces for our team. We would be overpaying. Just look what OKC had to give up. A big man who couldn't be played during the playoffs due to his inability to guard absolutely anyone, and one rotational player who can barely guard anyone. And oh yeah, a second round pick. Melo's value is pretty god damn low. 27 million for him next year is entirely too much money as well. And for all the people seeming to think that CP3 chose us because Morey guaranteed Melo would be added to our roster, I think you are being ridiculous. If that actually was the case, which it obviously isn't, don't you think Morey would of been more willing to sweeten his offer? I don't see Paul going anywhere. He seems like a high character individual. Barring a complete disaster of a season, I see him resigning with us.
He did the wrong thing by giving Ryan bricky Anderson that dumb contract Triple cheese burger only did right after doing so much wrong
And that's a great move. Morey doesn't deserve to be bashed for not getting Melo. But there is no question Melo is a much better basketball fit for beating Golden State than Clint Capela. And the road to a title goes through them.
Absolutely. Throw more into the pot? NO! Not when your competition was giving up the likes of Iman Shumpert, Enes Kanter & Meyers Leonard. As for Ryan Anderson,
Lol, right? We supposed to gut our team to get Melo while OKC just unloads its trash. Perry tried to son Morey, it didn't happen. I'm glad we don't have a super emotional reactionary for a GM. The type of guy that would trade your future picks for a maybe prospect QB in a desperate attempt at becoming relevant.
even if capela was included they did not want ANDERSON.... capela has one year left not the player they were looking for
Ryan Anderson is better than Melo at this point in their careers. He just needs to learn how to shoot at TC.
If Melo was traded for crap (in comparison to Melo) why are we mad at our GM for not trading something of value? Clearly Melo isn't worth what some wanted us to give. Kanter has a shorter deal. It's that simple.
