This was comedy. If I had a score card I would have to give it to Josh on this one. His goal i to provide entertaining radio and he did. Morey sounded like he didn't know what he was doing but just being defensive. He should be able to take criticism, comes with the job. He sounded like a dude that felt he had arrived. Truth is, he's desperate because he hasn't gotten the players he wanted. He should have just said "we have a lot of work to do but the season doesn't start till November".
I had a problem with my phone and was unable to listen to 610 and had to listen to 790 for awhile in the morning when I walked my dog. Got a new phone and started to listen to 610 again and they have some whiney guy on now that is very irritating. I can't listen to 610 in the aft. when I'm in the car if I have my kids with me. Seems like 610 is going for a younger demographic than old guys like me.
It's the Jersey Shore effect. Of course a train wreck is gonna draw more than some good sports takes. There's a reason Jersey Shore gets the ratings it does and Breaking Bad gets the ratings it does. Doesn't mean it's good radio just means there's enough simpletons out there that will eat that stuff up. I have a couple of friends who listen to 610 exclusively and let's just say they really fit that stations target listener. Grew up listening to Rich and Charlie when I first started working as a delivery boy in my teens in the late 90's/early 00's. Rich does have much sports knowledge but him and Charlie was a good combo of Sports guy/Natural Radio guy. As much hate as any of these guys get when I went to school in San Antonio there was a guy on there (I think Mike Taylor was his name), that would blow any of the crap here (Gwinn, Innis, Lopez) out of the water. I'd gladly listen to G & I (gwinn and innis) before ever listening to that Taylor guy ever again. He was a Dallas guy who would just slob anything Spur and belittle anything Houston related.
Semi-related - he was on Colin Cowherd on ESPN briefly this morning. Not much to add that we haven't heard already. But at the end as Colin concluded the interview he said how smart Morey was. Morey jokingly chimed in 'well I'm not that smart because we've been .500 for the past few years'. I thought it was a nice poke at himself and I'm glad we're shifting gears.
But Innes should know that and still chooses to be an arrogant whiny puke. His shtick might play well in the Northeast. I hope he finds a job there; I'm sure he'd start his first day with how sensitive we are in the South, how we're like fans in an oil-painting, etc etc. Innes sucks hard and he's made 610 unlistenable.
I didn't read this whole thread, but has it just been 10 pages of trashing Josh Innes? If so, I'm in.
hi 610 how you doing? and the truth is the interview sucked, you were pricks and Morey was defensive. All were culpable. This thread is complete proof that clutchfans has alot of weight in the houston sports media. Why else would 4-5 new accounts pop up (not DD) come to the defensive of SCHTICK. SCHTICK's time will pass, enjoy the small window of acceptance.
Josh Innes single handedly ran me off of 610. Dude belongs on a 104krbe type morning show....talking about Dancing with the Stars. I love it back when Dre and Vandy were the morning show. Then Lopez joined and it took me awhile to warm up to him.....still warming up to him. When Josh joined, it was the beginning of the end. Now my go-to channel is 790. I only go to 610 during a commercial, or if 790 is on a topic that I'm not interested in. 610am.....if you're listening.....get rid of the clown!!!

Shame on Morey if he gives another interview on 610 (at least until 610 finally figures out that Innes is an assclown). Same for anyone else in the Rockets org.
Ha! Far from it genius! I started posting here before the interview. I've been coming to the site for a while and finally decided to join the conversation. Everybody, including Morey, knows what Josh's angle is. So why fall for it? Or even more bait it by asking for tougher questions and then get upset when the questions come? I'm not an Innes fan. I listen to 610 because I'm not able to get 790 most times. And as bad as Josh is, I'd rather listen to him than Barry Warner. Reminds me of the Rome/Stern interview.
My guess is that Josh will be fired before Morey. And when he ends up in New Mexico on Radio Albacrackee, he will be trashing Houston. Seems like he hates it here.
even before this public stunt, innes was one of the most frickn annoying people on the radio. that fat turd is now getting more radio recognition. last i heard him, he was talkn about his small a$$ **** when he visited the urologist. charlie p all the way during this time.
