I know many of you guys are dazzled by Morey and hang on his every word, but he is woefully short on results, and I have zero confidence in him. I could get political and make a comparison, but I won't. In short, sounding good and being smart does not equal positive outcomes. You actually have to accomplish something.
You don't keep your job for so long, if you're doing it wrong. You can assume fans are hypnotized by Morey, but he answers to Les and Les doesn't get told what to do. Morey is accomplishing what Les is asking for, given the circumstances. The average franchise sits back and watches the losses pile up after waiving their white flag. About 6-8 years later they can field a winning team, not contender, but just a winning team. We just waived the white flag within the last year, but will likely field a winning team again within 2 years.
In Morey's case, you apparently do. That is, if you charm the person or persons you are working for. If the fans could vote, I bet he wouldn't be here.
I believe his contract is up after this year. That could be wrong. If it is up, Les will likely extend him.
I have Vince Dung projected as a future Hall of Famer. I wasn't suggesting a "fan managed" team, I suggested that fans would vote Morey out as GM and replace him with a "basketball guy."
Holding the team together after losing two top-ten NBA players is not that bad. It doesn't help though, that for some reason, Morey can't pull off that ahahahah, I screwed you trade like the Lakers can.
Unfortunately it is true, and as a result of extending his contract, rockets will keep swimming in the pool of mediocrity for a few more seasons before any change in the front office happens.
If we're mediocre this year, again, it would actually be good for the future of this team. Trade bait galore.
I'll bite. One of them inherited a decimated economy and has done a miraculous job of keeping us afloat when we could be drowning. The other inherited two superstars decimated by injuries and has done a miraculous job of keeping us above .500. Both of them just seem to be getting to the point they can actually build something of their own rather than just cleaning up the mess the last guy left for them.
 about the first post 2 years after registration. BTW, maybe I'm more stupid than I thought: what does the photo imply?
