exactly. Plays too safe to make the big moves shrude teams are willing to make to put them over the edge. You don't go from mediocre to championship callibar like this.

Right on Bro. I hate how he trys to justify his failures. I hate how he has ignored all the risks Yao's health and instead as you correctly mentioned just watches the odds play out. I hate how he has failed and refused to provide a back up plan.

Its really not that hard. Yao seems to get injured all the time and it may happend again so maybe we should be prepared if worse comes to worse. I mean since it basically happens all the time anyway.

Thats all he had to think. I cant believe the thought hasnt registered in his after all this time. What a moron.

He defenitely has that politician vibe about him. And I really hate the ay he answers key questions, he always palms it off with some bs statement like the example you just gave.

No accountability. Fails to address key issues. Justifies mistakes and answers the media in vague terms. Sounds like a politician to me.

It's tough to consolidate assets and upgrade positions if the other GMs won't play ball. Instead, you hear rumors like Minny offering John Flynn for Brooks or Orlando trying to land Kevin Martin by dangling Gortat.

I honestly don't know how Morey is GM. I mean, any clutchfans member understand that if only we have Dwight Howard and Kobe on this team, we'd be kicking ass.

Why the Hell does Daryl Morey not understand this? Hasn't he called Orlando about trading Jordan Hill for Dwight Howard yet? Hasn't he offer the Brooks+expirings plus picks to NO for CP3 yet?

Idiot indeed. How can we put up with a GM like that?

Its interesting that everybody that gets "extra" compliments draws in the most DIRECTED naysaying hate. Part critique/part envy.

    A GM speaking in GM-speak, who'da thought?

Funny when you lose, you see who the real fans are and the ones who just want to complain then jump ship.

Last year there were Two superstars on this team, yes two. Both of whom had career threatening and or possibly ending injuries. Do you not understand what that means? You had one making over 20 million, the other 17. Just looking at the money aspect alone for a minute, you do realize that is a significant amount of your cap eaten up right?

Fast forward to this year. What are the two glaring things IMO that this team is lacking? A center to clog up the middle that can play some D. Yao? Oh Yao doesn't block shots you say? Maybe not at a high clip, maybe he isn't as swift as some want laterally, but you're fooling yourselves if you think Yao wouldn't make a huge difference.

Second, we need a closer. Yao was thought to be that guy, the Rockets received plenty of feedback by the doctors to think it was a possibilty he came back strong. The Orginization gambled(correctly in doing so) and lost. It was worth the shot, stars don't fall out of the sky like some of you believe.

Lastly, Morey has done as much as he's been able too so far. DM has made this team competitive, landed some very good players and gave back probably less than his return. Not good enough? Of course not, they know it but are trying like hell to change it. Take a step back, realize you don't know as much as our front office. I still believe in Morey and this orginization. Typical, so many Fair weather fans. Not me, I still believe.

Out of that lot, Yao's insured expiring contract is probably the most valuable. Except it won't go down well with fans, it'll be bad PR to trade for it as the centre piece.

Opposing GMs have a superstar in their hands and the best young player they can get is who? They're going to re-start a franchise around that young player when they know the Rockets know they themselves can't with that player?

So you're saying no one will trade with us?

So many movements of big men last off-season. (How did Al Jefferson land n Utah?) And all we got out of it was Brad Miller?

True, it's not entirely DM's fault. It's both his and RA's responsibility to mold this team in their image.

I have my own prediction. The Rockets are tuning RA out already. We won't get back to .500 and we won't get a good trade at the deadline.

Contending teams are doing well; they see no need to change. Teams below us have young upcoming stars like the Clippers have Griffin, Kings have Cousins, etc. We will sink fast. Hopefully we get a good lottery pick position.

since when does cheering for a team mean you have to be a fan of the General Manager ? these are rockets fans, not morey fans. it's perfectly compatible to say "i like the rockets and disagree with their roster moves" in the same sentence.

you could certainly argue that he's had 4 years to trade/draft/sign a back up shot blocking big and watching milsap and aldridge really drives that failure home. and injuries or not (seriously, Yao being injured again is not an excuse for him. it's not. really.), this is the product he signed off on and rolled out into the nba. the basketball team he's put together is not very good at playing basketball.

as for me, personally i try to look at Morey as a rookie GM ready to come into his own. 2 years from now we will either have a legit deep playoff team or a boatload of picks and young talent. once he starts to put the team ahead of yao he can get out of the turd shining business and get us a contender.

I'm waiting for DM to tweet another classic line to go with: "Everybody in the Rockets organization is feeling the pain ..." LOL That was when we had our 0-5 start to the season. What will he tweet now?

    Rick:
Yes Bra Miller (no D) you can shoot as many 3's as you like.
Defence, don't be silly, just hope your man misses.

Bra: thanks Rick, your the best.

Picture says it all, coach plays favorites over talent.

Everyone wants instant gratification. We all want to win now, but this isnt a fantasy league, where you just draft your team. The really good teams not only have great talent, they are also lucky. We dont have great talent, and we have not been lucky. Moreys rep. makes its hard to make the big trade. Other GM think Morey may rape them. I want to win as much as anyone, but until another team wants to trade we are sol.

Did you forget to add this to your first post or something?

He doesnt imply to fire the GM, he is implying to do something.

And I agree. All I want to know is what direction we are heading in. If we are losing, it should read PatPat and T-Will playing 30+ minutes. That's acceptable by me. This trying with this core? We did this already. Its called last year.
