The liberals sure do get defensive when they know Cheney is right about something....like the points he made in the videos
I'm not sure about this. Declassifying records is opening a can of worms? If one record is declassified, that means all records should be? It seems to me that the memos show Cheney to be full of it, and he didn't like it. We know that the CIA and Bush administration changed the story to give credit to waterboarding when it wasn't effective. So if there are some memos of that, so what? There may not even be any memos of it working, and Cheney is just blowing hot air.
Doesn't matter, Dick. Release it or don't, the ends don't justify the means. That's the whole point, so don't try to seduce us with your unholy rewards, oh master of darkness and lies.
declassify everything cheney classified -- would that satisfy everyone? It would satisfy me. Starting with his 2001 closed-door energy policy meetings with oil executives, going all through the run-up to the Iraq invasion, the Plame investigation, the torture discussions. Everything. Let the world judge this man.
exactly. we pretty much know what went on in Gitmo, we have no idea what happened at that meeting. a meeting about energy policy btw. what's the big secret.
Yes with only an 8 year record of epic failure, lies, contempt, and illegal activity to go on, we hath RUSHED to judgment.
Sounds like bigtexxx approves of my suggestion. Anyone else? Declassify everything Cheney classified. I won't judge it until I can read it. What I have judged so far is his unparalleled (in the US) secrecy, which has never smelled very good. More like a Stalinist approach to transparency. But maybe what he was hiding would show him to be a very logical, balanced and proactive human being.
unlike his numerous "obam is a a failure, obama is in over his head" blah blah blah posts. after three months
If only that were possible - he began destroying documents before ever leaving office - so it will be impossible to ever figure out everything he did.
We should go back to the loser gets to be VP. It would be awesome Gore would have probably beat Bush in 2004 and then they would have just switched jobs.
who knows how bush would've fared without cheney and his cronies surrounding him? of course, if they still did it that way, dubya would have never ever been anywhere close to the white house. without the puppet strings, what's the point of a doll?
Joementum thinks the release of the memos was a bad idea: "I thought release of the memos was a bad idea. ... It wasn't necessary. It just helps our enemies. It doesn't really help us. Again, the president can decide what tactics he wants the CIA or the military to use on people we capture, suspects of terrorism. But to let our enemies know what we are going to do or not do, that's not a good idea."
