After hearing about DK's death, I was glad that I was going to tonight's game with my Dad. Something like this makes you appreciate the people in your life that really matter. Please pray for DK's kids. They'll never be able to go to a game with their Dad again. Everybody has only one Dad...hug yours ASAP. Thanks for the memories you gave all of us DK, you will be missed.
It's terrible. I was out riding and didn't get the news until 5:30 or so.... I was so shocked. I can still remember hearing mention of Kile as a "diamond in the rough" prospect for the Stros back in the late 80s.
another sad part of my weekend was seeing Kile's name show up on the waiver wire as he was dropped unceremoniously in every fantasy baseball league i'm involved in.
ESPN News just reported the cause of death as two clogged arteries via the autopsy. So no foul play by DK or anyone else was involved it seems.
Unbelievable. I choked up when I heard the news. So young, so talented...so many years left. Well, it really seems screwed up, but this was DK's time to go. God bless his poor wife and kids. Man, I still don't believe this. I wonder what Matt Morris is going through. Poor guy. It was said for a long time that Darryl really showed Morris the ropes when he came to the majors. Damn. I wonder what Cards fans must feel like. This is sickening. RIP, DK. Astro forever.
I think I heard on the news he was a healthy guy (probably more healthy than the average person cause he's an athlete) without any heart problems. It's frightening that something like this could happen DK autographed a free Astros cap (giveaway) I got at my first Astros game. I still have the cap although its not in great condition and quality cause I wore it. The autograph has faded but I can still read Darryl Kile.

There are now 1,419 items listed on EBay for Darryl Kile. I bet it wasn't any higher than 50 or 60 before he passed away. People are friggin sick...
