Clippers most likely taking a point guard if they pick at number 5. Means Garland could be up for trade. Quality shooter as well .
Is he widely viewed as a negative contract? Garland + 2nd netted Harden, any other info out there as to his value? I wonder if he might be the perfect guy to gamble on... He's a 40% 3pt shooter and if his left big toe can stay healthy, he'd be a great candidate to rehabilitate his value in 2026 with the Rox. We need an upside gamble to have a chance against OKC/SA in 2026, but I'm not willing to give up any FRPs, only 2nds and/or a swap. FVV+DFS+CC for Garland I assume we would need to also send out draft capital, but could we get away with only including 2nd Round picks? If Garland could play 70+ games in 2026 and be seen as a positive value contract next summer, that's $44.9m in expiring salary to be used to go get ANT or another young clear #1 that hits the market.
Hold on, Ive got to do the player analysis . . . Nope his initials don't spell out FVV. He's a keeper!
Would be a lot better than Marcus f**king Smart. I think Reed has a good chance at being a Garland-esque player in a couple of years though. Ryan Rollins is the guy I really want, though. If the cost were similar in terms of draft picks, I'd take him in a second over Garland. Three years younger, comparable shooter, bigger, better defender.
What about KD for him, straight up. Clips get to plug Wagler in right away and team Kawhi up with Durant. Both are expiring contracts next year. Clippers: Wagler Mathurin Leonard Durant Lopez Rockets: Garland Amen Tari Jabari Sengun
