Lol this teams defense wouldn't sustain the defensive dropoff. Our defense is designed to excessively and aggressively prevent penetration towards Sengun so that he can do a decent job as a rim protector. FVV guards the POA. You can replace him with Amen but you can't replace him with a poor defender. Secondly, Garland plays like 50 games a year. That's why they want to trade him. How on earth are you ok with that? More importantly, Garland was a$$ when they had average paint spacing. He blew up when they fixed their spacing (and got healthy). We have horrible paint spacing. Garland would just be a jumpshooter here. You don't pay $40m for a guy who's not engaging in his main strength, doesn't play half the court and doesn't play half the games. Far better to have Amen at PG. The real problem is that we have two non-shooters. No matter how much you improve the quality of the other 3 players shooting, opponents will still leave the non-shooters open instead. Your 4th best shooter has to be passable on wide open 3's, that's when we will finally be able to make defenses expand and collapse.
